Obviously we can't agree on any solutions yet. But can we even agree on what the problems actually are? What do you think the problems are facing our country? Try not to use any political catch phrases or bash the other party and actually describe the problems facing us.

The problem is division and partisan voting....pure and simple. Neither party will give an inch and they have to stay completely separated so that the "people" will know who to vote for. If we all started getting along and really looked at what is best for our country, the lines would blur and it would confuse the feeble minded voters who need to be spoon fed their own perception of reality, not the truth.

More and more our country is becoming dem/rep-straight/gay-black/white-cnristian/all other religions-rich/poor and so on...
The old adage is true though...A house divided cannot stand.....and we my friend, are truly a divided nation!

Edit (part of my post was not printed correctly, but I think you understand my point...thanks)

I see a big problem is, not enough think like you. The first step in solving the problem is realizing there is a problem. The second step is, figuring out what the problem is.
And just pointing fingers is a big waste of time.

I'm afraid even THAT much is impossible since the perceived problems directly lead to one's political agenda.

That would be great! But the way the two parties are right now, if one side said a wall was painted orange, the other side would argue that it was purple.

there is a coming energy crisis and i think transportation, specifically railroad and light rail is the most overlooked issue.
healthcare is becoming a bigger issue as baby boomers retire and get older.
lobbyists and corporate interests are more important to our politicians than American citizens.

and there's always immigration, terrorism, and iraq.

Government spending. Both sides need to work on getting it under control and "cutting the fat" from the budget.

....Thats not how politics works....

You must use catchy phrases to get the dumb people to vote to you. It won't appeal to the smart people, but in America those are a minority.
