Nobody ever called this site "Yahoo! Truths"
but still after what i've seen, i could use this site as a starting point for informal research, since you don't get a million results like google which makes this site a bit easier to search. sometimes.

In my opinion, Yahoo! Answers has developed an effective
protocol for avoiding 'truth by consensus' which is conducive
to volunteering answers. Answerers do not have their
answers criticized by other answerers such as allowing
posting to answerers answers. I believe this is a beneficial
protocol for establishing a free forum of communication
and a promising platform for educational self-efficacy.
When I post questions on Yahoo! Answers I don't
expect that every answer should be equivalent to
an Einstein rationality. Nor do I desire for every
answer to enter an answer of definition rigidly
copied from a dictionary. The Yahoo! Answers
Q&A platform caters to a wide variety of answers
from a wide variety of different skill levels within
unique fields of society. The quality of answers is
significant in its diversity. That is the strength of
free forum and truth by individual inspection.

Isn't the whole point of Yahoo! Answers to pose a question to a vast collection of minds in order to get the best answer? Not just the most prevalent or popular answer, but the best one.
That means that the asker has to show some discrimination in what answers he/she chooses to accept.
But that is true in the "real world" as well, isn't it?

it depends on the nature of the question being asked. but if there is one particular answer that keeps cropping up more often than others, then that answer can be used as a reference point.....

Only God is "TRUTH." Any other truth is questionable.
