Do u prefer make-up from expensive brands in the departmnt stores or from the drugstore next to u?

Do u think it's worth it to spend more money, or the least expensive thinks do the same work?

*personally, I prefer to have some things from the dep.store (Chanel blush n bronzer, lancome mascara, bourjois eyeliners) and other from the drugstore (CoverGirl foundation and powder, lipsticks and glosses from several brands....)

What do U think?

I use some products from the drug store like Maybeline mascara, and Cover Girl powder, and skin care products like toner, and facial soap from Clinique because they're very good for my skin, and although i've only tried their eye shadow, and lipstics which are also very good, I have to say that Estee Lauder's eye shadows are great!! I tried them once as a free gift and they blend wonderfully so, I always like to try new products from both, dep stores and drug stores because they both have a lot of great products.

The only huge differences between drugstore and department store makeup, are name, price, and sometimes color range. Typically the makeup has the same ingredients no matter if it's drugstore or department store. Depending on the brand you're getting, some department store makeup has a wider range of colors. However, you can also buy two different drugstore makeups, mix them together and get the perfect color, and buying the two of those will still be cheaper than buying one from the department store. As far as I'm concerned, drugstore makeup beats department store makeup all the way. I can afford to have a wide variety of makeup from the drugstore, but I wouldn't have that luxury if I was buying expensive department store makeup :)

After a weekend splurge at sephora I can honestly say I love the 'department store/designer' makeup. For certain things its really worth it. (Bare Escentual Makeup, Diorshow mascara, clinique and Lancome lipgloss, brushes, and eyeshadows esp!!) But I do have similar favorites from drugstores (Maybelline soft n full mascara, Loreal True Match foundation, eyeliners) Some of the expensive makeup just looks better, lasts longer and has better color selections.
Good question!

I had NEVER worn department store make up, because I never thought there would be a difference. Then I started working at Clinique and after I received the free products I get for working there and started wearing them.. oh my gosh! What a difference! The foundation feels soo much nicer, the powder is great, concealer, mascara, everything is SO much better... right down to the eyeshadow. The eyeshadow has to be my favorite, the color is great and it spreads so evenly and nicely.

Even with the foundation, you don't have to use as much to get the coverage you want.. I never expected it.

I personally love going to a make up store called ULTA. Its a store of hair and make up things! Its really great. I use a lot of ULTA brand cosmetics. I use ULTA eyeshadow and eyliner. But I prefer Maybelline Mascara (which you can also buy at ULTA). I believe blush is a totally different story though. I buy my blush at a make up store called MAC. I spend a little more money on it because it last forever and I like my blush to be perfect. Go on ULTA's website if you get the chance and find a store near where you live--you'll love it. Plus, they have trained employees there that will help you find makeup that looks good on you, even giving you a little make over (if desired). Good luck!

If it works for you, drugstore brands are fine. If you have skin problems, though, I recommend going to one of the department store brands. Personally, I use foundations and powders (and cleansers) from Estee Lauder or Clinique and everything else can come from the drugstore.

it depends on what it is. i have found that less expensive foundations work just as well as more expensive ones. i like better foundations, eye shadows and mascaras but i'll use whatever i have, i can make pretty much anything work.
