Probably because they've never been to Montana and don't know how breathtaking the scenry is and how friendly the people there are. Plus, there are cowboys/ranchers. WOO HOO!

Seriously, if I could pack up and leave today, I'd move to Montana. While in college, I drove with a friend from Columbus Ohio to Washington State, then down to California. Of all the states we drove through, Montana was by far the most beautiful. Pictures/postcards are nice enough, but when you're standing there on the side of the road looking at the mountains--oh my God! Plus, you guys have no speed limit on the highway during the day. :)

Washington State is a close second in beauty, but there's something about Montana--it's so wide open and sparsely populated. It's almost like being on your own planet. :)

The next time someone says something unkind to you about being raised in Montana, try not to come back with something smart alec or unkind to say to them. It just brings you down to their level. These people are closed minded.

I am from the Blackfeet rez in Montana. The people you are speaking of obviously have never been to Montana. It is a beautiful place, with the sweetest smelling air. Now I'm home sick!

Some people think they have to look down on other people to make up for their own inadequacies. I assure you not everyone from cities have that attitude, but too many of us do.

I used to really want to go to MT just for the driving, but I guess you have speed limits again now?

I think it would be really cool to be from a farm in Montana. These people you are meeting are ignorant. Stay away from them!

Because most folks are bastards and they try to take the heat off of themselves. Maybe they want to look cool, but they're punks. Be proud of where ya came from little lady, that's what makes you.. you =0)

only because they are ignorant, spoiled city kids. I bet if you left them out there for a day they would not survive. Be proud of where you come from and don't worry about envious people they will only bring you down

You are who you are. They're probably just picking at you. I was born in ALABAMA, I get a lot of crap for that, but it looks better when you just laugh it off and are able to joke about it too.
