There is a controverse theory that states that the population of south America eating corn would at the same time ingest a chemical that inhibit the serotonin of the nervous system, thus acting on the emotional control of the people. It is not well understood how this chemical need to be ingested or its action on the serotonin, but this link to violent popualtion has been studied for a few years and should gives its conclusions if governments are ready to hear about it...
It is also believe that it still caused behind todays social problems in those countries, as high consumption of corn could led to more violence expression...

If you were a Mayan you of course would consider yourself to be just an innocent person who wants to live as you do. But if you were some foreigner you would probably have to fight for your life and probably to no avail you would be sacrificed to the Gods for the benefit of the Raza. I know I would have fought hard and long if I knew that the intentions of the Mayans was to stretch me over a round rock naked and then have my heart cut out and then my arms and legs cut off and my torso kicked down the stairs to feed some zoo full of exotic animals and my arms and legs to be sold as tacos in the town square.

The Mayans were not Bloodthirsty savages. They were just portrayed that way in that Mel Gibson movie Apocolypto.

No more blood thirsty than the Roman church, or the Bush White House... They were for sure "brilliant caretakers of the Earth" if you compare them to the actions of W.
