I won mine on ebay I paid more for it but hell I really wanted it and it was worth every penny! You just have to be persistant call local stores find out shipment dates it will still be hard with each store carrying it getting an average of 3 units a week. Just recently the toys r us in our town has been able to keep them in stock a couple of days longer than before so make a decision keep searching or just bid for one on ebay it just depends on how soon and how much work you want to do to get one.

For me it was easy. I knew it was coming out on Nov. 19, 2006, and I know that there was a center that has Best Buy, Target, and Circuit City, so I figured that the center would be my best shot since it has 3 stores that will have the Wii on launch day. Got up around 5 am, showered, then drove over to the center. Got to CC first, and there wasn't a lot of people so I figured that it probably won't have a lot of Wii since it's a brand new store that just opened. Then got to BB, and too many people in line, so I drove across the parking lot of Target, and there were only about 30 people in line, so I got out of the car and waited in line. The previous night, I knew that the store was getting about 70 Wii, so I just needed to be the first 50 or so in line.

But that was for launch. For now, it's all about luck. If I were you, I would hang out around the Wii forum, and see if anyone divulges some info. There's www.gamefaqs.com, and there are some users who are extremely helpful. They might know when the Wii will appear on the Sunday ad, so they might leak it out. Other users might work for Best Buy, and they can tell how many Wii each BB is receiving, so that helps you to plan accordingly.

When demands are still this high for a console, pre ordering whould be the best idea. But if this is not an option, you should just go early and wait in line. Remember, the early bird gets the worm.

I camped out with my housemates for mine the night before launch. We slept in a parking garage which oddly enough collapse a month later! Anyway, my best suggestion is simply to call around - see who's getting them in stock first and either pre-order or show up as early as possible. They're still shipping them out regularly, its just a matter of who finds them first.

Got mine by pure luck. I went into the PX (military store) and they asked if we were interested in buying one and we got the last one. You think its hard getting a Wii in the states try getting one in Germany.

I phoned a walmart that is slightly off the beaten path on the right day... They had 3 ... so I phoned my brother-in-law and he went and bought one... Most stores will tell you what days they typically get shipments in, but this in not an exact prediction... Nintendo is playing with us I think.

Go to www.ideal-info.com/Wii.php , enter your Zip Code, and then it'll tell you which stores in your area are getting the Nintendo Wii and When...

Good Luck!

My mom gave me mine. She has looked everywhere for one. She looked in every store in town everyday until she found one. My mom finally found one at K-mart. She probably found it because not too many people shop at that K-mart and so K-mart didn't sell out.

I got mine in pure luck. On a Sunday, I walked in to EBGames and they had two consoles left when I got mine. :)
