Every time we screw with nature, something really bad happens. We've been walking this planet for over 2000 years yet in the past 100, we've caused the most damage. I'm a guy but I'm very worried as to the long term problems this will cause.

Same hormones as the pill, you just never take the week off for the period -- Dr.'s have been suggesting skipping periods when they are going to occur at an inopportune time (like vacation or wedding) for MANY years (I worked for an Ob/Gyn in 1989 and remember the issue coming up pretty often). BUT that was to skip just ONE period... I don't think it makes sense to do it for a continued length of time.
I trust that our bodies do what they do for a reason (which is true whether you believe in natural selection or creationism), and I personally don't like to mess with that too much.
I had horrible mood swings and PMS with the pill, and I'm curious to see if this level, continuous dose will help women with those symptoms or makes them worse. Now that I'm older and done having kids, I have an IUD, and I still get a period fairly regularly; but of shorter duration and lighter flow, with FAR LESS side effects.

Personally -- I am now an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree (and Military Retiree). For myself -- this would have made it a LOT easier on me to Deploy or go TDY or on other events ... with no worries about a period -- it would have meant that I could have the benefits of NOT having to worry about health concerns in areas around the world ... where things are not exactly the best.

I agree with you its a bad idea. They need to do long term studies to see what happens to our bodies if the natural process of menstration is stopped all together. Plus I read that in the study they DID do, almost 1/2 the women dropped out before it was completed because of bleeding with no warning.

i agree completlely with you. bad i idea to mess with Gods natural design. the period is the natural way for the inner lining to clean itself and to get rid on the old egg. seriously. i wouldnt be suprised if sometime down the road women who take those pills stop having babies.

I am totally against it. Women have periods for a reason. That is the way God ordained it. It is the body's way of cleansing itself.

It's a natural thing, and theres for a reason...possibly more reasons than we're aware of. not because of god, but I wouldn't personally experiment with that on a long term basis.

yea, i think that you need to have your period, the main reason we have them so we can get the bad stuff out of our body and if you take this pill that how will you get the bad stuff out of your body? i'm sorry but i think that the women that will get that will just get that so they dont have to deal with the pain, well they should get over that, its just apart of it.. i hate it how so women complain when they have little pain, i get mine so bad that i throw up
