Same birthday as me, but the year is off by a bit :P

Anyways, he is old enough. As late as 1975 people frequently served in the military as young as 17. 18-19 is a good average for a soldier fresh out of high school. So I could see him serving between 1973-1975, somewhere in there.

He is old enough to have served in Vietnam. The conflict ended in 1975 that would have made him 20 at the end of the war.

I think the Vietnam War officially ended in April 1975. Major fighting was still going on in 1972. It's possible, but very unlikely. Ask to see his DD214. If he was wounded by enemy fire he would have gotten a Purple Heart and it would be listed in the Awards section of the DD214.

Nope hub was born in 56 and he was part of the draft toward the end. He just missed going.
I have a neighbor that was a POW and he was born in 55.

Sounds possible, he could have joined at 18 years old. and been there 1973-1975

Unless he lied about his age and enlisted, he would have been too young to serve.

yes unless he was 11 or 12 when he joined my sister was born in 57 and during that war she was only 10ys old in 1967....tell him you want to see his service records and then you;ll know hopefully..... good luck..........
