I think everything that a person does defines who they are from the simpilest level of how they represent themselves, how they treat others, their personality, background/origin, their aspirations, and the big/small choices we all make on a daily basis. -Everyones different but we all are faced with situations that clearly define who we are.

My present defines who I am. My present is build with the hardwork and courage I showed in past. And my present also defines the future I will be seeing if i sow the proper seeds now.
Parents, Teachers, family and friends help you develop and define yourself. But the key always is self motivation. You can be a lotus of muddy pond or orchid of the gardens.

Just answering to point out that I hate the "cocktail-party" scenario where you get defined by your occupation.
Because I'm an engineer, people will make assumptions and talk about stuff I'm not interested in.
Still, on the bright side, at least I'm not an accountant.

Great people are defined by strength of their characters. They have the will and courage to stand by their causes. Its true for all of us. We see people based upon what their impression is in the society. You may not like a person , but if he /she is standing by his/her words , you tend to admire her. That's a reflection of your character ( that you can see a merit without bias ) and his/her character to stand by his/ her commitments.

Quite simple really - You are what you do.

Ask a person what they do & half the time they will use their occupation as an idenity. I.e. "I am a teacher." vrs "I teach"
We say "Jon IS an athelete" or "Bill IS a goof off"

Idenity is how something acts, appears or behaves.

To be is to do. - Plato
To do is to be. - Confucius
Do be do be do - Sinatra ;-)

The choices I make.

The way I interpret the experiences in my life.

My quest to have a center of love within.

How I treat others.

How I express myself.

THE ATTITUDE OF MY HEART....everything I am is an extension of my inner world.
