It is strange. Even better, the Blazers didn't suffer for their bad luck last year because of the good decisions that were made by the organization.
That just goes to prove that GMs and presidents matter just as much as good fortune in the draft. Those of you whose teams had bad luck this year, don't feel too bad if you've got a good GM: he'll find a good player for you. Now, if you're a team like Boston with bad luck *and* a bad GM, you've got some worrying to do...
Edit: As usual, users on this site tend to give the "thumbs down" to people they disagree with, regardless of whether they make a good argument. That's why I pay more attention to a user's best arguments than his/her thumbs up/thumbs down ratio.

Very strange. Memphis and Boston both lost out on the Top 3 draft picks. Yet both had the best percentages. Memphis - 25%
Boston - 19.9%. While Portland had 5.3% Seattle - 8.8% Atlanta -11.9%. Sometimes it's all about luck more than percentages when your talking about choosing a winner out of ping pong balls.

While it's strange, it's still just probability. You can say it's rigged if you want to, but it's just dumb luck. 5% in lotteries aren't too bad, you'd do worse buying a ticket from a 7-11.

It is...interesting...that the three teams most suspected of tanking( Memphis, Boston,Milwaukee) ended getting their worst possible draft positions, and Portland made up for last year when they got bad luck. It's almost like the league was punishing those tankers....
