why is gas cheaper more south?

Why that's because we Southerners fly rebel flags and say things like "Yahoo!" all the time. Also transportation costs are less.

Gas is cheaper because in general, all costs of living are lower in the south. If you look at salaries of workers, they are lower too (I'm not talking about high paying business workers or company owners but just that average worker). Also, many other factors are less in the south such as: rent, the cost of a house, real estate, insurance, and so on. If people are making less money on average, the cost of living and regular expenses are lowered too. So look at it like this...if someone doing the same job as you is getting paid less due to location, the cost of gas should be less, therefore they aren't paying less than you for gas because they are making less than you in the first place.

Never. Gas prices used to be artificially low. Now they are at a more stable equlibrium. Get used to it. Since oil is a finite resource, as less is avialable, the proces will continue to rise.

because the oil refinery is located in the south the futher it has to travel it more it would cost..thats why hawaii's gas prices are the highest out of all the states....
