Kelly Clarkson, hands down. Her CD's are awesome, and she's come out with more hit songs then any other winner. In other words, she is the first winner and also the most successful.
Oh, and by the way, she can actually sing, too. That's more then can be said for Taylor Hicks. Taylor should have gone on 'So You Think You Can Dance?' At least that's a dancing competition.
