Does anyone know of any legitimate at home businesses that can be done in spare time? I would like to hear from REAL people who have actually made money from it and not from email marketers or even if you know someone who has made some money from an at-home business. I have a decent job but just looking to make a little side money in my free time.

Hey Nia,
I'm new around here but I do know of a home business that you can work any hours that you need to. I am part of work at home united, we're a mentoring group that works with an inc. 500 co. that has been in business for 22 years. This is not a get-in-on-the-ground-level scam. This is a true business. We are actually running a "last Days of May" special where you can start your business for only $14.50. That is a 50% savings. I'm so excited about this company. It's a great way to "add green to your wallet while going green in your home. We also offer free training, website and support for members. It is completely risk-free with a 120-day money back guarantee. So what are you waiting for-now is a great time to build a business with the 1/2 off sale!!
I have my own website:

I work from home, and I don't have to do shows, sell products, or take and deliver orders! I can do everything from the telephone or computer, too, so I am truly home!It is much better than some of the other things I have tried! I am doing this right now, and making money!

Also, the company I work for has gotten a Hall of Fame award from the Better Business Bureau! The team I am with gives me free training and a free website as well!

Come to my website and fill out an interest form, and I will call you and get you all the info. With any real business, you can't get all the info on a message board post, and there is no obligation to listen to the details. Everything is fully refundable too! That makes it risk-free!

Wow! You got a lot of answers! Well, here's a thought for you.... I am a stay at home mom with my own home-based biz. I work with The Body Shop. I have done the Partylite and Pampered Chef thing, but neither of them made me money like The Body shop at Home has! I run my biz in the evening after my hubby comes home from work. I do 1-2 parties a week and usually pocket about $1500-2000. REALLY! I also work my biz (phonecalls, etc) 1-2 night a week. the only thing I will tell you to be aware of with any of these direct sales businesses is that in order to make any real good money, you should be prepared to build a team. You're looking at an average of $80-90 profit per party (Solo) versus $150-160 per party (with a team of 6). The thing is, though, I find that people want to do this with me. Our company is so different than all of the others. It is great to work for a company that gives bck to the world and our society. I really feel like I am making a difference in other peoples' lives. Plus, the market is sooooo saturated with PartyLite, Avon, Mary Kay, Arbonne, Pampered Chef, etc.... Let me know if you are interested. I love it!

Nia yes there are many ways and vehicles to apply yourself to and make a substantial income the fact that you asked is a plus if you ask the right people you wouldn't ask a mechanic to check out a slipped disk in your back so be careful of who you ask.

Now you said spare time, it is my experience that no vehicle will work in your spare time as we never have any, you must allocate a specific amount of time persistently and consistently for a period of time and in most cases this requires months and years, I f you give me 6 to 10 hours a week or more I will help you start a business that will earn you a tremendous return please write or call Steve Dargis 248-459-0437 I am not a phony nor would I waste my time or yours if I was not concerned about your future and the benefit's your after.... Sincerely... Steve Dargis...

Yes, I have a legitimate home business....all you have to do is shop (buying things you would buy at the store) and get paid from 3 to 25%. Earn from those under you...others above you will also be putting people under you. So you are in business for yourself but not by yourself. Over 1 million products from name brand stores are available for you. Look at one of my websites. If you are interested, email me and I will make all the rest available to you and give you a website where you can sign up. www.cmccord.qhealthbeauty.com

Here's an alternative home-based use of a telephone opportunity which is outlined below.

If you have a functioning telephone with call forwarding features, you can set up a small phone answering service which can provide the lunch break and appointment relief for small medical and legal practitioners. This is how it works: You have a contract with these practitioners to allow them to forward their switchboard calls to your home telephone. While the regular staff is on a lunch or regular afternoon break, you answer the phone and take down any appointments and relevant notes. You charge a fee based on .10th of an hour, i.e., up to 15 minutes is .25 hours, a half hour is 0.50 and 45 minutes is .75 and finally an hour is 1.00. The attractiveness of hiring your service is the clearness of your voice [hopefully without an accent] and the savings to regular staff members not having to stay around or arrange their breaks just to cover switchboard calls. And you may not want to limit this service to these practitioners and offer it to any number of restaurants [taking reservations]; private schools [which gives out information to prospective students], etc.

Good luck!

Distributors wanted for Dark Chocolate
I just started with this home business last month.
Did you know that doctors are telling us that we should be eating the
right kind of dark chocolate for our health (see October 2005
Prevention Magazine)?
Dark Chocolate can improve your cardiovascular health, your blood
pressure, your sugar metabolism and relieve inflammation in the body
among many other benefits.
So why shouldn't you just eat a Dove bar? Well . . . the chocolate
found in candy is PROCESSED (which kills the antioxidant content).
Processed chocolate is laden with fat, wax, fillers, preservatives
and sugar.
Xoçai™ Products contain completely natural, unprocessed chocolate
which retains 100% of its antioxidant and nutritional value!
Xoçai™ products deliver the full antioxidant capacity of dark
chocolate without the fat, wax, fillers, preservatives and high sugar
content normally associated with chocolate.
• Cocoa beans grown on privately controlled farms on the Ivory Coast
• Rugged environment creates plants strong in phytonutrients and
flavonoids
• Flavonoids play an important role in protecting the cocoa plant
• Flavonoids also protect our bodies from free radical damage
• In Belgium the nutrients are removed, the chocolate is cold pressed
and the nutrients are added back in creating a very potent
antioxidant, unprocessed, raw cocoa powder.
• Cocoa beans contain over 300 chemically identifiable compounds
making these beans one of the most complex foods on earth
• Cocoa is the highest source of antioxidants in the world
• The Açai berry, out of the Amazon, is the second-highest- 14 times
more potent than spinach and 10-30 times more potent than red wine.
So how about it, eat your chocolate and make money too, become a
distributor today.

There are so many choices. I've made money from a variety of direct sales companies. Jewelry, food, and makeup usually do pretty well.

I was with lia sophia and it was pretty popular, but I didn't really want to do home parties. I am with Mineral Girlz, which provides some income. I receive some commission from online sales (need to advertise more) but I have some workshops coming up that will pull in some extra money.

My sister was with Home Interior part-time and made about 12k in a year. She is with Tupperware now and doing well so far.

I recently started my own company to offer my own products but I am still with Mineral Girlz.
