There's a song from the musical version of The Lion King called "Endless Night" that bears a lot of resemblance to Elie Wiesel's situation in "Night"

The song is about Simba struggling to come to terms with the fact that his father isn't with him anymore, even though his father always promised to be with him.

It's VERY similar to how Elie Wiesel feels like God isn't with him, and that God has forsaken his promise to always be with Elie. You can buy the song for 99 cents on iTunes. Here are the lyrics:

Where has the starlight gone?
Dark is the day
How can I find my way home?

Home is an empty dream
Lost to the night
Father, I feel so alone

You promised you'd be there
Whenever I needed you
Whenever I call your name
You're not anywhere

I'm trying to hold on
Just waiting to hear your voice
One word, just a word will do
To end this nightmare

When will the dawning break
Oh endless night
Sleepless I dream of the day

When you were by my side
Guiding my path
Father, I can't find the way

You promised you'd be there
Whenever I needed you
Whenever I call your name
You're not anywhere

I'm trying to hold on
Just waiting to hear your voice
One word, just a word will do
To end this nightmare

um..for soundtracks to books, i usually choose classical music without lyrics that still protray an emotion. i love mozart and beethoven. they have some great, emotional music that needs no lyrics (for the most part, because some of their music was written to be acompanied by a voice.
