Launching missiles isn't the same thing as an invasion. If that's what you're asking. Invasion requires our military presence within the borders of that country. What you describe is an attack, not an invasion.

No, invasion is far different from a simple air-strike or cruise missile-strike.

President Clinton made ONE cruise missile attack (Operation Infinite Reach) on 20 August 1998 against rural training camps in Afghanistan and a "chemical weapons" factory in Sudan: About 75 cruise missiles landed in Afghanistan at Bin Laden's camps around Khost and Jalalabad. About 20 people died in the Afghan strikes.

Now if you're asking if it was a United States action, or a political stunt by Bill to deflect some of the news coming out at that time regarding his closed-door antics with Monica Lewinsky... I'll leave that to others.

Yes, it is correct to say that the US has had a military interest and presence in Afghanistan since the Clinton Administration.

Although that "military" presence was CIA and they were more of a crime fighting force with military support than an actual military presence.

Edit: It would have been nice if Bush did not remove them as soon as he took office, basically removing our eyes and ears that were watching Bin Laden and Al Qaida.

No! it is not right to say we invaded any country. Shoot with clinton in office he traded some of our missles and top secret documents for a few women so he could go have sex in the oval office.

clinton was the absolute worst president we have ever had. Our current President, President Bush has more nerve and guts to fight for this country than clinton ever had or ever will have.

All you people out there who jumped on the bandwagon when 9-11 happened, I am glad, however now you are questioning the war? Who are you and what happened to your sense of patroitism?

You have all became a bunch of spineless, gutless, freaks that have no room to talk about anything remotly close to patroitism.

During the Clinton Admin. Afghanistan was bombed repeatly, however, this was not reported. This is why they in turn retaliated. Not to say that Bush made it any better, but the war was already in process before he came into office. Not to say that Clinton wasn't a great president b/c he was.
