Hi all,

I posted a questions earlier this morning and now my friend has helped me post the picture of my husband's back on this link:

http://www.expressimprints.com/backwithscratches.htm

I'm not convinced from the reason that my husband gave me that those scratches he got was from working out at the gym (he lift weights to make his arms buffer).

Please let me know what you think? I have got many answers that you hardly or never could get scratches on back from working out at the gym. 90% people think he cheated on me.

Now, I have a picture for better judgment. I need your thoughts on this picture. Are the scratches from fingernails or from working out at the gym?

Thanks for your time and help!

I should say, I got the picture when I happened walked in a room where he was in and he just got out of shower like within 3 mins.

I was in a different room then I just walked into the room he was in and I saw that. I wanted to take this picture. I guess he had no choice when I asked for taking its picture.

We have no kid after 7 years of marriage.

Where can I go find out most accurate what the scratches are? Do you think going to family doctor would help solve my question?

He keeps insisting he got those from working out. I did not accept that answer, then he just said "I don't know". To me, that kind of answer means nothing. He refused to tell me the truth how he got the scratch marks except saying from working out.

I will file complain with the gym,

That does not look like finger nail scratches to me. Although, I couldn't imagine that would happen working out either. Your guess is as good as mine. Never jump to conclusions though. After 7 yrs of marriage, you should know your husband well enough to know whether or not he's being honest.

Fingernails. I've never gotten scratch marks like that in the gym only in bed. He must think you're stupid to fall for an excuse like that. He got those marks working out alright but not in the gym.

Also I don't buy it that they're not fingernail marks because the person would have to have 6 fingers, that reasoning is non-sense. Who says the nail marks happened at the same time at the very same place on his back, the marks happened over a period of time. I can't imagine that if you're working out
and you're feeling scratches like that on your back, that you would continue
with your exercises routine, unless it was something enjoyable. So I don't buy the gym excuse. And then it seems odd that you say after questioning him that he says "well I don't know" You should know where you got marks like that. Maybe the only thing true about the gym is some woman at the gym, So possibly it's a half truth. Half truths in some peoples minds is like not lying at all because part of the story is the truth, so they build their alibi around that. Can he look you straight in the eyes and tell you wholeheartedly without reservations that those marks were from working out at the gym, and convince you without any doubt? Try that and that's your answer.

Unles on of the guys at the gym came up and hugged him and scratched the crap outta his back while working out, that's not possible. I've heard of pulled muscles or shin splints or all sorts of injuries, but never scratches in the shape of fingers...

I'm sorry but the man is cheating and what's worse is he is a very bad liar.

adding a note that just because there are more then 4-5 scratches on each side doens't mean it's not fingernails - just means the lady scratched him a few times in different spots - very hard to scratch exactly on top of the first ones in the heat of the moment. Personally i'd tell him that I want to make a report to the owner of the gym and want to go down there with him to file a report and if he says no then you have another piece ot the puzzle. Going there just to check the machine is pointless and just will show that you cant trust him. If you ask to make a report to the manager and he is fine with it, then he might have a chance (doubtful).

Well, first off, I thought they were fingernail marks, and they still may be. The ones towards the bottom look too wide to be scratches, but the only way for him to have marks like that would from the gym would be to have something pressed against him with enough force to leave bruising which sounds unlikely. I would more importantly examine his behavior and if he's where he's supposed to be and also is he 'late' quite often? Check online for a detailed description of the cell phone bill. Look for #'s that are there often and at times when you two are apart.

They don't look like scratches to me.

Look how perfectly parallel they are to each other, and symmetrical. It looks like something a pad at the back of a machine would cause. I used to do a shoulder press at the gym and had marks like that on my shoulders when I was done.

Go to the gym and see if any machine has a pad or bar that would cause that mark. I am positive they are not fingernail scratches. Scratches from a passionate moment would not be perfectly even and parallel to each other. Trust your husband!

I read your earlier question. I am glad you posted the picture, so we can see what you are talking about.

YES. Those are scratch marks from a person's nails.

By the way, I have been a personal trainer at my gym for 7 years, I have never come home with even a bruise on me. Gyms are generally SAFE places to work out in.

To the left, I would almost think it was caused by fingernails. Only there is a straight pattern. If it was done by human nails, (as in carried away in the throws of passion), they would be more jagged and have bloody sores. Deeper in areas and lighter in others because of thrusting.
To the right, it looks as though it is a injury from pushing, such as with weight lifting. Also in the same straight across pattern.
I have been a private investigator since 2000. (Now I am home with a baby. ) But, honestly, my professional opinion is that it was not done by natural human nails. I would say however, I do believe it could have been done with squared tipped french manicured nails. Because there are no jags or tears in his flesh. Manicured acrylic nails will leave marks like that, to where if dug in deep enough, will cause the blood to rise to the top of the skin without rupturing the flesh, leaving very nasty marks. And since she stays in the general area, I would say she was well balanced, standing upright. Hope this helps you. Good luck. And where do I send your bill?

Those are long finger nail marks, my dear, and long sharp ones at that. They were either in the missionary or standing-missionary positon and she loved every minute of it, based on the scratch pattern. So much that she clawed and he didn't even feel it.

Those aren't marks fro a weight bench. Those are scratching drag marks, similar to those afer a cat scratches you with an entire paw of razor.

Get proof. If he says that they were from the gym, give him the benefit of the doubt. He knows how he got the and has probably explained it. After his back heals, out of the blue, go to the gym with him and ask him to duplicate the scratches.

The cat will have his tongue.

Here kitty, kitty...Hisssssssss...Scratch...Ow, not my back again!

looks kinda iffy. Those are thick for fingernail scratches. But I can not imagine what at the gym would do that either. I would be headed to the gym next time he is there and ask what mutilated his back. See how he reacts if he takes you straight to the equipment and you see structures that match then you know. If he stammers and can't remeber which one it was--check his cell. Sorry, you have to worry with this. If you think this may a cheater--drop him. Do not spend the rest of your life wondering what your mate is up to.

YOU DO NOT GET SCRATCHES ON YOUR BACK AT A GYM! They have the most comfortable seats ever. They are padded likt 3 inches thick, they did not come from the gym, hunnie. You see how the scratches started out small in the middle of his back and then they got thicker? (You should watch Law and Order) But the fact that they started out small then got bigger should tell you. Yes i do think he is cheating.

Well they don't really look like finger nail scratches but how could he have gotten that from working out? I go to the gym on a regular basis and there aren't any machines or free weights that would make those kind of markings.
