Saw and petted my friend's cat, Alfie who was in his chair when I walked in. I then went into my friend's room and found out he had been put to sleep two weeks before. They found cat hairs on the furniture for months afterwards.

We went to Salem, Mass once and we went into a house where some witch trials had taken place but we didn't know it at the time. It was on the tour so in we went. Before we went in, I had commented on how creepy this one window looked. Nothing happened during the whole first part of the tour but when we went upstairs I felt like something was stopping my breath and I just sat down hard on the stairs. I could not and did not go up those stairs but I could hear the commentary from where I was. That room was where the trial was held and sentencing. It was the creepy window room. As soon as I went back down the stairs, I felt fine. I've been back there four times but not in that house. It was either a ghost or a past remembering.

Regarding Vetta's answer - Holy Ghost or evil spirits. So you think all ghosts are evil spirits??? If you believe this, why are you on this site and answering this question???

Yes. I've seen ghosts. I've been in real houses where ghosts reside. I guess one would call that haunted.

Most of the time they have NO idea they're dead. They are frustrated because they don't understand why no one will talk to them.

It's not scary. It's certainly NOT like very popular movies these days. It's not like The Ring or The Grudge. It's a lot more like The Others. They just go along doing their thing, never really understanding why people don't see them.

I have seen and felt the presents of spirits and ghosts all my life. The last occurance was when we moved to SD. We rented a house. I went to take a nap & felt something in the doorway. I told it to leave me alone I was tired. The next thing I knew was I was on the floor with a bruised face. The next couple of weeks went by with my husband seeing an apparition in the hall (black, grey and a red one). I was packing to move and almost done when we went to bed. I felt this evil presents standing right behind me. I was so afraid to move. The next day I fell down the outside stair off the 2nd story & broke my arm pretty bad. I had hyperthermia but recovered. I will not step into that house again. EVER.
I don't beleave all spirits are evil. THEY ARE NOT, just the one's in this house I was in. The grey spirit was not. Some are just lost in the nether world trying to figure out if they are dead or alive. Tell them they have pasted and go to the light. If they are not able then they have unfinished business they need to get done here. Some are just pissed. Alot of them are just lost.

I was working in Colorado, in a town I won't name because ex-employees aren't supposed to tell these stories. The place I worked was a historical sight and there had been a "Suspicious death" on the property lots of years ago. And everyone who worked there talked about the Ghost. I was a little skeptical, but one day, I was back in the storage area and I felt someone standing behind me. You know the feeling. I turned and no one was there. So I went back to work, but the feeling didn't go away. It got more intense, like the person was getting closer. I didn't look around, I just waited and finall, I could feel something like breath on my neck and the faintest little hand on my shoulder. Now the whole time, I'd been talking to her - everyone always did, just kind of "hey, how are you." that sort of thing. But when she touched me I stood bolt up and the feeling faded. I said "ok, look, I know you don't mean any harm and your lonely, but that was just creepy. I need to go out front and I'll be back later". The feeling disappeared, but after that, whenever I was alone, I'd feel her in the room, keeping her distance and I'd talk to her like everyone else.

I think I have ... I've seen "shadows" at least.

I stayed with my sister for three weeks over the summer. She is married and has two little girls.

Once when walking out of the shower, I swear I saw my little niece disappear around the corner of her half shut bedroom door. Much like she was running to hide frome me. I called out her name and peeked around the door. She wasn't there. In fact, there was no one in the bedroom anywhere.

Also, they lived in a split level house. When walking around upstairs, one can see through a doorway down some stairs to the laundry room level where there is a "men's maintenance bathroom." This is where my sister's husband would shower after work. When I walked past this doorway, I looked down and saw a dark haired man walk past the stairs. When I backtracked to take a second look, no one was there. My brother-in-law has blonde hair.

My sister has also done that white noise testing and has gotten a response from someone.

I grew up in a house with a resident ghost.Mr.Wilson.

All 6 kids in my family saw him as well as all our friends.

He would sit in the attic window and watch us walk home from school or play in the yard.

If we were inside, he would disappear from rooms as we walked into them, usually thru the wall.

When I was about 9 he woke me in the middle of the night.I got up from bed and a minute later, the plaster ceiling fell right on my bed. While my dad was waiting to fix the ceiling in my room, I slept on a couch in the hall.He woke me again one night and then the hall ceiling fell on the couch.

I went home 2 years ago after 35 years gone, drove past the old house and Mr. Wilson was sitting in his usual window when I went by.

Also seen a few other ghosts in other locations as well.

Been inside historically haunted places and witnessed spectres. If you're in the precense of a spectre, you know it. The energy is noticeably different, and your adrenaline picks up. A chilling feeling can pass up or down your spine and in your chakras. Some people are really afraid of this feeling, and because their adrenaline is up, they get very flighty.

I personally feel a bit nervous, but not flighty. It varies from person to person.

Hell yea, we have one in our apartment and it is getting on my nerves. I'm not afraid of them. Sometimes when I'm sleep I feel it at my feet. My lady saw it for the 1st time the other morning. Whatever it is stands in the washroom and in the living room in front of the TV. It knows that I can sort of see it. But I ignore it because I once heard a preacher say to always ignore spirits. Even if it is one you loved that past away. Because evil can disguise itself in to someone you love. I know that it knows that I see and feel it. But I don't give it any attention.

I also say 3 spirits about 2 years ago on a long dark stretch of road. People once street raced on this stretch of road. Because it is straight stretch without a lot of traffic and it’s hidden from cops for the most part. It was about 2 or 3 in the morning. I was coming home from work. I needed gas but I thought that I could get home and fill up the next day. Well I ran out of gas about a mile from my apartment at the beginning of this stretch. As I walked along the side of the road I notice something that looked like a small patch of fog or a bush that was sitting to close to the road. I reached out to push the bush out of my way and my hand went straight threw it. I paid no mind a keep walking. Then I noticed the same patch of fog again. Out the corner of my eye I noticed 2 more on the other side of the street moving at the same pace I was walking. That’s when I freaked out. I ran to the center road divider. I jogged home in the center on the road. I remember feeling like some young guys around me were confused and lost. I got home and sleep. When I went back with gas for my car the next day I notice 3 of those markers with flowers for people who died in car wrecks. 1 was on the side of the highway that I walked on and the other two were on the other side.

I've actually seen more than these few. Sometimes I wonder am I one of those people who can see spirits. This is a gift I would happily give to someone else if I am.

I live in Ireland where there is a myth about banshees. One night about 3 years ago as i was lying in bed i saw this bright flash outside my window followed by a scream that i can't decribe with words, it was so loud that i had to cover my ears. The scream lasted for about 3 seconds and during that time i had the worse felling ever, it felt cold and evil. I no that scream was a banshee.

well sort of, heres the story. my fiance and i were going camping on top of a hill where we had a camper. to get there you have to pass a grave yard and its all wooded al the way around. well it was holloween (of course) so i was already freaked out and it was about 11:30 at night. so here we are driving and then the car stops, i look to my left and we are right beside the grave yard. the whole car stopped and the lights went out. i was freaking out!!! we got the car to start up but it only went about 3 feet then stopped again.the next time we got it to start it stayed on, im not sure i beleive in ghosts, but that was something supernatural for sure.
