I personally wouldn't do anything to that person. A lie will come out in the end. If this other person is your best friend she know you, and she should know you wouldn't do whatever it was that you didn't do. All relationships deal with trust. I trust my friend I know she wouldn't do anything to hurt me if she don't trust you start looking for another friend. Every person that's in our lives are there for a certain reason and season. You or no one else would have been able to tell me that my BF of elem. school would not be around right now. She was there for me during that time in my life I needed her and god put her there. I have know idea where she is now, but I greatful she was around when she was.

Ignore it! Me and my BF have been BF for 14 years and we have been through that whole "He said, She said" and it was all childish! Now that we are almost 30 we realize how stupid alot of our fights was. Talk to your Best friend and let her know you didn't say anything, if she is truly your BF she will believe you!

Its happened to me more than once

I would set the record straight your best friend and just walk away from the other "friend". There is nothing to be gained from further confrontation and revenge will only make you feel better for a short while. Let go of the bitterness and move on.

I simply wouldn't speak to them again. First off, there would be an issue of betrayal. Second off, anyone that involves themselves in gossip like that is only going to bring around a whole lot of drama. No point in even being angry- it's just a sign of their maturity level. Me personally, I'd just pity them.

At the same time, don't fall into play of the "he said, she said" game! I've seen friendships destroyed over accusations when the party in question was actually innocent.

I would ignore it. If your best friend really is your best friend, they will believe,YOU!!! Having said that.....you could arrange a meeting with you, your best friend, and the person that went behind your back and confront them about what happened.
