My question is - why do Yankee fans cheer this guy? He is a proven steroid user, and now he fails amphetamine tests? So why do Yankee fans cheer this cheater and loser?

Why would I get off his case and get on Bonds case? Are they not the same?

Where do you get that he only used in Oakland? Do you really think he stopped before he got to New York? Or did he stop after having that tumor (in New York).

According to one responder, the media is now "going after Giambi." Poor Jason!! Because he admitted using steroids does NOT excuse him. Seems to me more than just the media ought to be going after him. Like maybe Major League baseball with a long suspension!!
Chow!!

I'm a Yankee fan and I don't cheer for this cheater. I wanted management to get rid of him two seasons ago when all this crap hit the media. I don't cheer for any of these cheating scum bags. I don't care who they are. If Derek Jeter himself was caught using steroids or other drugs I would call for his dismissal and I'm a huge Jeter fan.
There is no place in any sports for drugs of any kind. I hope Giambi gets his contract voided and they unload him.
Don't throw a blanket over every Yankee fan. Most of us know the difference between right and wrong which is more than I can say for Giant fans.

Giambi is a decent ball player, nothing to cheer about cuz his best years did come when he was juicing, but I'm sure he's been doing amphetamines for a much longer time.
anyone who finds it surprising that any baseball player fails an amphetamine test needs to get real. These guys have been using this stuff for decades and decades. I'm not gonna throw anyone specifically under the bus, but what would you think if you knew guys like Aaron or Ripken or Gwynn used amphetamines, cuz it's entirely possible.
This stuff helps them make it from day to day and has been going on for a long, long time.

Jason Giambi is the only player in baseball to come forward and admit he has done wrong. If you cannot respect that, then at least respect that he had continued to play well after the whole ordeal and remains a force to deal with on the Yankees.

i absolutely love how the focus is always on giambi
the yanks are 10 games out of first, yet the media still chooses to go after giambi
hes said he used steroid and performance enhancing drugs even tho he did pull a 5th grade tactic and didnt actually say it
get off of giambi's case
get on bonds case

Yankee fans are happy when they win. They don't care if they cheat or not, or if the win is due to an umpire's mistake. Kind of like Giants fans cheering Barry Bonds or San Antonio (basketball) fans cheering their team for head-butting or kneeing in the groin or body checking Steve Nash.
Actually like lots of sports fans everywhere who put winning ahead of sportsmanship.
Are you actually a sports fan who would say (in public) "My team didn't deserve to win, even though it worked out that way. I won't cheer for (player on my team) because he's a cheater."?

It's interesting, though, that a couple days after he calls out MLB a confidential pop on a drug test is leaked to the media. I think MLB is making it known strongly that the players better shut up about steroids and - if they don't - they will pay dearly through leaks.

Are you suprise!? It's true Giambi only has the balls to come out with the truth, but dosen't leave him off the hook. Once a cheater will always be a cheater (*cough* Kenny Rogers). Go TIGERS!!!!!
