To be more specific I'm writing a paper comparing song lyrics that deal with the social and economical problems of today against song lyrics that did the same in the 60's im trying to steer away from the war topic though more about at home issues dealing with poverty, homelessness, and violence with in ones own country. If you can give me a good example. song title, author, and lyrics I'll definitely give you 10 points, stars, thumbs and ups and all the other bells and whistles you want.
thanks

i admire green Day! i admire everybody of their songs, understand each and every of the words to their songs, might spend each and every penny I easily have going to be sure them stay (Coz they're dazzling stay), and that i'm particularly plenty a die-confusing fan! i admire as quickly as I could have a communication with human beings approximately green Day, however the thought that they have only heard a pair of songs kinda annoys me somewhat. Or at exhibits, whilst Billie says some thing like 'Any previous college followers available?!' and everybody starts screaming, then they play some thing like '2000 Lightyears away' and everybody's like "whats this?" lol! the suited question to be sure what kinda fan they're, is ask what they think of of John Kiffmeyer! the universal answer is 'Who?' anyhow, yeah, i admire em! they're are some authentic followers left, yet they're few and lots between i'm afraid! =]

A specific song? or are you just looking for general suggestions? If it's specific, do you know some lyrics? If general, there are tons of political songs from the 60s.

"Eve of Destruction" by Barry McGuire?
"Fortunate Son" by Credence Clearwater Revival?
"For what it's worth" by Buffalo Springfield?
"Ohio" by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young?

There were too many of them. You need to narrow down your question to a specific year, boy or girl singer, band, or some of the words that you can remember.

^ ^ To "Wandering":
American Woman was by the Guess Who (from Canada)

"Ohio" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young came to mind,
but that was actually early 70s
(Neil Young has written MANY great protest songs
-- then and in more recent years)

•LYRICS•
Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?

Gotta get down to it
Soldiers are gunning us down
Should have been done long ago.
What if you knew her
And found her dead on the ground
How can you run when you know?

Tin soldiers and Nixon coming,
We're finally on our own.
This summer I hear the drumming,
Four dead in Ohio.

FYI- Here are pages related to protest songs from that era and anti-war songs from all over the world:
