There is nothing you can do to prevent a miscarriage. Trust me if it was..everyone would be doing it. Miscarriages come from chromosomal abnormalities, which is nothing you did your self, it just happens sometimes. Just take your prenatal vitamins and get alot of rest and drink ALOT of water, and you should be fine. And I'm pretty sure that most miscarriages occur before the 12week period.

most miscarriages that occur in the first trimester (which is when most miscarriage occur) are due to chromosomal abnormalities. or because the woman has low progesterone levels.
miscarriage during the second trimester are usually due to the cervical problems, uterine malformation, or problems with the umbilical cord.
besides theses, smoking, drinking excessive amounts, multiple pregnanacies - like twins, triplets etc.., physical trauma are other causes of miscarriage.
miscarriage may occur throughout the entire pregnancy, however the chances of miscarriage drops after you reach the second and third trimester.
don't worry too much about it, b/c stress can cause miscarriage too. the uterus is usually a well protected place for baby, and can withstand some bumps here and there. you will know if you have miscarried, that is what i've heard a lot of. congrats!

First of all, avoid all the drugs, alcohol, 2nd hand smoke, and don't have too much caffeine. Those are the main reasons that can cause a miscarriage. But then again there is nothing you can do to prevent it. You can have one anytime during your pregnancy but it lowers the chance of having one once you are in the 12th week. Just be careful, don't work too hard and relax as much as possible. Oh yeah definately take your prenatal vitamin everyday and eat healthy everyday. It helps a lil!.

Unfortunately, I don't think that there is much you can do to prevent a miscarriage. I would simply suggest to eat properly, get enough rest, watch your physical activity, don't lift heavy things, etc. I'm not sure at what point you are considered to be safe from having a miscarriage, but people can usually breathe a sigh of relief after 12 weeks, or the first trimester. Best of luck and please don't stress yourself out about it!

Usually it is because of chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo. There is nothing you can do to prevent this kind of micarriage. Other reasons can be because you lare lacking the needed hormones to maintain the pregnancy, or an incompetent cervix. With these sort of reasons trhewre are things a doctor can do before you get pregnant to help cure the problem.
