If there is only one agent 6% usually, if there is a buyer's agent and a seller's agent they will get 3% each usually. These figures are NOT set in stone, but alot of realtors wont budge. It is actually pretty sad b/c the guy that will be doing all the hard work is the person doing the financing end of the deal, and he will only make around 1% in real commision. If you are selling a home, and do not wish to pay these fees, let the realtors know. Or write into the contract that the buyer is responsible for paying the fees for thier own realtor. Good Luck.

The standard is the sellers agent gets 3% and the buyers gets the other 3%. So you end up paying 6% total when you sell your house. This can be negotiated of course. If you have a pricey house a realtor will take less sometimes just to get the option to make a big sale. If they think you house is going to be a tough sale they might try to get more out of you.

Depending on market area, average charges for listing and selling a property range in the 5% to 7% of final sale price. Bear in mind that this figure does NOT end up in the hands of the particular individual realtor. A given percentage goes to the broker agency for whom the realtor works, and, if the realtor does not sell the listing on his/her own, another portion of the commission charged will go to the other agent who brought the buyer.

Typically there is a 6% commission with half going to the buying agent and half to the selling agent. This is negotiable, but 6 is the standard. There are some websites that offer 3%.

This percentage is always negotiable between the client and the agent. There is no commission set in stone as a rule. Our area charges 6% as a rule but that is always a negotiable issue.
