What is available in your area? Check out DSL from your phone company first. It is cheaper than cable, and you may not need the super high speeds that cable offers. For instance, Verizon offers a $15/month plan in many areas.
dslreports . com has a feature where you enter your zipcode and it shows what's available. You will also see (sometimes very opinionated) user reviews of the different services.

Dial up is slow but cheap
DSL is faster - not as fast as cable but cheaper
I'd compare prices of dial up vs. DSL and if DSL isn't much more - go for it.
DSL advantage = your phone is never busy when on the internet. With Dial up.. when you are on the internet you can not make or receive calls. Your phone is "busy".
Think about that!

Wireless connection is the best because a wireless network allows you the user to have freedom in where every you want to go in the area, the internet follows

If you really never use it, I would suggest just getting Dial-Up. It's slow, but cheap. You can either get an unlimited usage plan, or a plan that you only pay for as much as you use.

a dsl connection that runs at 1.5Mbps would suffice ... going rate would be around $25-35 per month

dude if u in india then u gonna luv this advice from me
there is a plan from mtnl triband it is plan 199 ..... it gives u a free adsl modem(this is free and is gr8) and almost no installation charges too !! and ur speed is 256kbs this is pretty gud from mtnl !!! even if ur fone is dead ur internet would work !
if u lookin for a little more go for airtel !
