5(4/5x) - 5(8) = 5(4x)
4x - 40 = 20x
4x - 40 - 4x = 20x - 4x
- 40 = 16x
- 40 / 16 = 16x / 16
- 40 / 16 = x
- 5/2 = x
- 2 1/2 = x
- 2.5 = x

4/(5x - 8) = 4x
4 = 4x(5x - 8)
4 = 20x^2 - 32x
20x^2 - 32x - 4 = 0
4(5x^2 - 8x - 1) = 0
5x^2 - 8x - 1 = 0
x = -0.117, 1.717
4/5x - 8 = 4x
4/5x = 4x + 8
4 = 5x(4x + 8)
4 = 20x^2 + 40 x
20x^2 + 40x - 4 = 0
5x^2 + 8x - 1 = 0
x = -1.717, 0.117
It was confusing which one of these equations you meant.
