First off I have to say..Delhomme does not have injury problems, he threw a pass and happened to whack his hand on somebody's helmet, that hardly makes him prone to injury, those were the only games he missed in his career with Carolina, and it happened on a TD pass too......anyway....Carr didn't succeed for a lot of reasons. Houston lacked good running game and didn't have the receiving threats to make up for it, allowing teams to constantly blitz him and rush him out of the pocket or sack him...not good. Carr isn't the best QB..but a 68% completion rate and getting sacked 50 times a season, he's got potential. He COULD beat Delhomme out, but I don't see it happening until sometime during the season after Delhomme has two bad games in a row or something. Steve Smith ...yep...Offensive line...indeedy...running backs in a new system designed for them...yeah....Drew Carter and Dwayne Jarrett to go along with Smith...mmmhm....Carr has a great chance to silence all critics if he gets a chance to play. Seriously, if Carr can't succeed in that offense, he might be worse than his critics say he is...but I think he will do fine (if he plays).

No.
Delhomme will be the starting QB in 2007 for the Carolina Panthers. He is signifactly more knowledgable of their offense and is still an effective playcaller. There is no doubt in my mind that he will come back with a solid season as a starter this year.
Carr will silence the critics at some point, but not as a Panther in 2007.

Carr will be starting by game 8 this season. Delhomme has consistently slipped in skill over the last two years. Coach Fox is on the hot seat and will need a boost if the Panthers don't win more than 4 games in the first 8.

Delhomme will definitely start. There is no reason for him not to. I do agree that if he struggles or gets hurt Carr will be in.
I kind of hope this does happen. I would like to see Carr play with an actual good offense. Just to see if he is everything that he is supposed to be.

I think Delhomme has the starting job on lock. they wouldn't bench a man who's been there and has led them to a super bowl appearance and a few NFC championships. Carr is basically just a back up because Delhomme has been known to get hurt during the season but hes a great addition to the team and i think he understand that hes not there start because if he wanted to start he could have just stayed with the Texans.

I don't know if he'll silence the critics but I do think he will start by game 6 this year. Delhomme has had some injuries and has just been underperforming as of late. I think they'll let him start the year but Carr will be nipping at his heels and end up with the starting job.

Delhomme struggled last year, and is indeed on the downside of his career. That said, I think the job is his to lose, and if John Fox likes what he sees from Carr, the job may be his in the future regardless...

Carolina has made it clear that Delhomme is the starter...but, if he struggles, I'm sure they won't hesitate giving Carr a chance...He would have to outplay Delhomme to have a chance to BE the starter for the season...

I hope so but Jake is still a very good QB. I think the competition will actually make Jake better initially. But Carr is definitely the guy to look to in the future.
