BACK IN THE 70S WHEN I WAS IN THE MARINES, THE MILITARY WAS LOOKED DOWN ON BECAUSE OF THE VIETNAM WAR, AND A BUDDY AND I WAS STATIONED IN CALIF WE WENT IN UNIFORM TO A CAFE TO EAT AND WAS THROWN OUT BECAUSE THE WAITRESS SAID WE DONT SERVE YOUR KIND HERE, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE

I think I would have stood up...told her "Lady, just say thank-you to me for protecting your right to say that." Then walked on out the door, and not bring myself down to her level. I REALLY would have WANTED to beat the crap out of her!

I would have been very mad. However, that was a typical attitude in those times, despite the fact that the soldiers weren't responsible for the war. I think that most people have more respect these days and know better than to blame people who are just following orders.

Talked to the manager, but unfortunately the way people were back then he might have backed her up. Sad.
