I saw one for the first time last night when I was driving....oh. my. god. So big. Scared me so bad. I think I skipped a heart beat.

Very large creatures. I remember one early morning, I was in New Brunswick, in Eastern Canada. Around 4AM or so. I was driving down a country road doing around 50KM/H. A huge moose past me running down the road!! Amazing power those things have.

Yes, I came real close to one in the woods as a kid. It didn't move as I approached, I got so close I began thinking I might be able to touch it, then it made a sudden jump towards me, like it tried to scare me away, before it turned around and ran off.
