No, they wouldn't stand a chance. To start with, the 49ers aren't nearly the worst team in the NFL. But look at the whole situation this way. USC (when Bush was there) had maybe 8-10 guys that are quality NFL players and only 4-5 that are starters. There is now way a team like that could beat an NFL team. It wouldn't even be close.

Imagine making an NFL team with all rookies and no support from an NFL coach and there you have it. A blowout. Number one, the rules are different in the NFL... and college play is based around a different ruleset. Penalties abound and college players wouldn't know how to take advantage of the relaxed rules.

Sure, a team like Florida looked great against Ohio State. But pit them against the Raiders and they'll get smashed, literally. The NFL is a much more physical game where little guys just don't work well. Relatively small players like Chris Leak would be run over and injured on the first play by even the worst linebacker (because the OL would get knocked over by the DL).

Even though it looks like the same thing, a lot of the finesse of college FB is taken away and many plays in the professional game are designed around more deliberate plays guaranteed for modest run yardage or pass yardage. Long bombs really don't work as well in the pro game but it's almost always an option in the college game. Also, those triple options that people love to see in the college level would be picked off by a good lineman or DB.

Even though it's the same sport, it's a different level (of course I do like college FB better :))

No, and for a multitude of reasons.

1. The best NCAA team has maybe 6 or 7 NFL quality players, while the worst NFL team has their entire roster filled with NFL players. There is simply a HUGE talent gap.

2. Doesn't matter which set of rules...If you play NFL rules, obviously, the NFL team is at an advantage, but even if you play NCAA rules, all the NFL players can play college ball already, because they did.

3. Size. A team made up of 18-22 year olds simply isn't going to be a physical match for an NFL team. The NFL players are bigger, stronger, faster, period.

There is no way. those college boys could not compete across the board with the Strength and Speed of the NFL. Take your best College team.... that team probably has 10 (generous) players drafted at the end of the year, the rest are undrafted and underclassmen (18-21 years old). The NFL team is made up of 22-35 year old mean in peak condition who were all College All-Stars and were all for the most part drafted... Not even close.

No, the NFL is at a whole different level. It shows when these college all stars come to the NFL and take 2 years to get into the faster paced rhythm of the NFL. Besides that the 49ers aren't the worst team they beat the bronco's to keep them from making the playoffs last year and on Frank Gores legs could make it to the playoffs this year.

Even the worst NFL team consists of a collection of the best college players. That USC team had, what, 5 or 6 players drafted off the entire team. The worst team in the NFL consists of almost entirely early draft picks that were among the best off EVERY college team. It wouldn't even be close. The NFL team would win every time.

No way. The worst team in the NFL still has way more talent than any college team. Remember, the NFL is the best of the best. The elite of the college athletes. Only a hand full of college athletes make it to the pros. And only a few of them go on to be super stars. any rookie says the hardest thing about making the transition from college to the pros is the speed of the game.

No, I don't think so. While a Reggie Bush was exceptional in college, he was making all of those plays against other college players, the majority of who will never be in the NFL. A great college team will never have the depth that a bad NFL team will have on the field.

That's a good question. I think if they played 10 times, the college team may be able to win one. The talent jump between college and pro is enormous. If you think about it, how many USC Trojan's in Bush' last year went on to become regular players in the NFL? I don't know the answer, but I'd guess less than 5. That means that the majority of the players there don't even belong on the same field as their NFL counterparts. A NFL team is made up of the fastest, strongest and most skilled 1% of college players! So my answer is no. An NFL team would kill any college team. But then, on any given Sunday...

No. For one reason: the best college team does not have a man on the team. There is no true leader. There is no1 that everyone looks up to. The NFL is the hardest league to be a star in. To make it you need to be a man. College players are stars with a bunch of over-hyped kids. They are not men and that is the only reason they can't win.
