I probably gossip more then I am gossiped about,,,because lets get real here I can't be that interesting..OK The difference between 2 people chatting about a 3rd person, and gossip is when 2 people are chatting about a 3rd person it is usually (chat) in a good light..with no malice or negative intent. If its gossip it is straight up talking S*it,and you know it going in ,what your intent is.!

hmm, i'm sure taht im gossiped about more than i actually gossip, since i try not to have anything negative to say about my coworkers (while in the office).

What i say to people at home is a totally different ballgame.

Gossiping is being malicious, and prying into someone else's business. Chatting about a third person can be simply commenting on how great they look in their clothing. or their new hairdo, or those shoes that you just love and really need to go buy a pair of. hmmm, chatting about a third person is really about complementing what they do, and how they do it, while gossiping is about being mean and hurtful! Giving all the juice on someone.

I'm probably gossiped about more - but only because I try not to gossip.

The difference between two people chatting and gossip is the subject being discussed. If you're talkign about how drunk someone was last night/who they were chatting to etc etc, that's gossip. If you're saying that you really like someone's new hairstyle / that they went to x place for the weekend, that's chat.

I try not to gossip, it never helps anyone but most of the time hurts. If you are "chatting" about someone, no harm, as long as you are not trying to hurt that person. Have a nice day.

I am dumb enough to say things directly to people, but I am still guilty of gossip. But I know that I am gossipped more than I gossip, because at work I focus on work and do not socialize too much.

No, I am not at work today.

BTW, Mental is a strange bird.

In civilised society, we abstain from gossip about others.
But in Jane Austens' drawing rooms' novels, the gossips
between the ladies may vary between you Gossip and your
Gossiped about. That is the Victorian Society where ladies
of leisure has not much to do but to indulge in such trivial
art of gossipping. But in contemporary society, most of these are eradicated whereby most people would like either topursue their business or of humanitarian causes i.e. to provide a service to others inorder to attain self-fulfillment and self actualisation. These are inkeeping to the upper-middle classsociety but in the working class of society, such trivialities of life are still in existence. It's the way of life. through the course of education, it's better not to indulge in either.

Mental doesn't gossip.
Metal doesn't like people who gossip.
Mental doesn't like two people chatting about a third person.
Mental doesn't mind gossiping with you, however.
Mental understands you.
Mental won't tell anyone.

I think it's f*cking stupid when someone says that just TALKING about a third person isn't gossip. They shouldn't really talk about someone behind their back. But I guess it depends on what they're actually talking about.

I repeat good things about people. Like "so-and-so bought that house they wanted, good for them!" Anything hurtful or malicious is going to have to come out of someone else's mouth. I know people talk and gossip/rumours can hurt, so I try not to participate. I say things to my husband I would never say to anyone else, but I don't think that qualifies.
