The only reason he came back was in order to reach 600 career home runs. That's all!! He could care less about anything else. You won't see him after this season. He'll get his 600th homer and disappear forever. No hall of fame for this cheater either.

Financially Sosa did not need to come back to the majors but he sat out during some of the heated times of the steroid scandal. I think he sees that Bonds is making it through the scandal and probably feels that he can too. In Sosa's reality this return is simply to prove to fans that he can still hit the homerun ball which gives him a better chance of making to the hall of fame if he makes this return. Ultimately, you can tell by the responses to this question that it truly doesnt matter how many homeruns he hits this summer, his reputation is already gone.

I am a huge Cubs fan and a big former Sosa fan. I still like Sosa. However, he's doing this for himself. He was away from the game, not linked to the steroid scandel and now he's right back in it. Why, just so he could tack on to his homerun total and get to 600. Selfish.

Both. He has a chance to reach a milestone very few people has ever done. He also has to prove that he can still play without the roids. He is for real hitting homeruns for his ego to help the sorry azz rangers.

I say it does not matter. He got caught cheating with a freagin cork in his bat. I dont care where he ends up on the homerunlist. They should take bonds, sosa, and mark mcguire and take all there stats down because everyone of them used drugs to get where they did which takes away from the baseball greats who did it without cheating. Like The babe and Hank arron and guys comming up the homerun ladder like Ken griffey jr and a-rod. Griffey and a-rod have done it without cheating and the cheaters like sosa and bonds should not even be allowed to play the game.

I think no matter how nice a player is or "team oriented" a player may seem, all players grow up wanting three things, to make it to the majors, win a world series, and end up in the hall of fame. So no matter how hard you try to be a team player your goals are all about individual achievements. So basically he is padding his stats so he can get in the Hall.

Just for his own ego, for the 600 HRs and to show he could hit some without steroids. Boo, hiss.
