The attacks on Al Gore, Michael Moore and other Democrats intensify, but they are all personal. Why do the current Republicans shoot the messengers rather than focus on the actual issues?

Gore's use of energy fighting excessive energy use does not affect the validity of his argument, nor is it relevant that Michael Moore might have interviewed people he chose not to include in his films. Bias does not invalidate an argument.

If anybody out there wants to address the actual issues these men are raising, how about doing it? The moderates out here already know who hates who; we are just trying to find out who we believe.

Moore and Gore both own stocks in the big companies they are vilifying, Gore owns the company he buys his "carbon offsets" from, nobody believes liars and hypocrites.

I don't think so, and what you are pointing out as attacks are what I see as generally pointing out the Hypocracy of the Messengers more than anything else. I mean really, Moore is a little left of left don't you think? A rich film maker attacking the country that enables him to make those films that make him rich. Gore touting global warming and of course blaming humans when the question of cause is more than debatable, his use of pseudo-science and ignoring all other scientists who disagree is a little strange don't you think? Until you realize that the company that provides the carbon offsets that he is calling for is owned by him. All the while, he zips around the country on private jets to tout the message to us to ride bicycles to work! It's the hypocracy that is being attacked. If you like the message, then they should find better messengers.

On the flip side, why do liberals attack, name-call, point fingers, throw blame and defame republicans just because they are conservative and want to preserve the traditions of the USA? It goes both ways. Besides, Al Gore is washed up and looking to the Hollywood crowd for some attention. Micheal Moore does not show all sides in his "documentaries" and it's been proven that he leaves a lot of info out that counters all the hype that he tries to sell people. Instead of doing their best to show our enemies that we are a country divided, why don't libs get behind the president, prove once and for all that the USA will not be divided at any cost and allow us to win this war, instead of surrendering and giving kisses and hugs to the terrorists?
