I think Brett Favre is one of the greatest to play the game. I think his frustrations are warrented and people need to recognize he had one of his best performances just las season. To say he is past his prime I can appreciate but I dont think so. When one has played the game with as much heart and soul as has--makes it hard to just walk away. Ask Michael Jordan.
I may be biased becuase I live in Green Bay. I think that this year is going to be a great one for him and as much as I dont want to admit it--its probably his last.

The thing that comes to mind first when I think of Brett Favre, is durability. That guy is a warrior, and a lot of players could learn from his toughness. He has had a hall of fame career, and will break Marino's career TD record this year and possibly the career yardage record. I hope he does both, and ends on a good note.

Arguably, and in my mind, the greatest QB of all time. The facts and performances speak for themselves. About to break virtually all of Marino's records, have more wins than John Elway, and without ever having half of the talent they both respectively had in Miami and Denver. The only 3 time MVP in history. Sure he may not have the rings like Montana does, but Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Ronnie Lott, William Floyd, etc..all on his team, it wasn't a big shocker. He may not have the best passer rating like Steve Young does, but with Rice, Ricky Waters, Deion Sanders and Brent Jones in the "pass happy" Mike Shannahan offense, he was literally handed a championship team, not to mention over a 17 year career, 87% passer rating and a 61% completion isn't too shabby for Favre the "pick thrower".
In a nutshell he simply is a competitor. He always made his team better and push them forward. No disrespect to the glory days of the 90s and stretching to today, but aside from Reggie White and Sterling Sharpe who only played with Favre for 2 years, name a Hall of Fame player or even a truly dominant player on those rosters. He made his team better and always will be one of, if not, the greatest to play.
FYI for all the haters who rag on him for throwing picks, MARINO HAD 260 yet Favre has a better completion percentage.

Hall of Famer. Jerry Rice displayed the same end of career attitudes that Favre has been showing. Looking at the rosters that have been around him, some of the blame has to be shifted to management for his performance these last few years. I like Donald Driver, but he's no #1 receiver. They had the money to put more pieces around him for one last run.
That said, he should probably retire after this year. He should have the career TD and career win records (as well as the career INTs). Thanks for the memories Brett, I'll book my tickets for Canton five years after he retires.

Great QB. Needs to go to a contending team to try one last time to try to get another Super Bowl ring. Legacy in Green Bay but they can't win at this moment.
Hall of Fame QB

He will end up in the Hall Of Fame, but he needs to retire because his numbers keep getting worse every season he decides to come back.

I think he still has a couple of years left in him but he's not going to have a good showing as long as he stays in green bay it's to much about him and not a team.

He needs to retire, and he needs to do it now before the season starts. He will not get the packers to another super bowl, just quit while you're behind.
