If the US is trying to torture those people as the left keeps saying, I would think withholding medical care would help break them down faster.
And, oh by the way, panties on the head is not torture. They get prayer rugs, proper food and the Koran. Torture? Yeah right.

People, you really shouldn't flame when responding to these questions. This is a fair question, and it deserves an unbiased answer.
I'm a Democrat, and I'm telling you, Moore is an ambush artist. That's not to say he doesn't have a point, but he works to paint those he exposes in the worst possible light. And this is by design.
If that's where he actually took them, the point Moore was trying to make is, these folks who were the real heroes during the 9/11 attacks, rescuing people and risking their own health, are now forgotten, and that even terrorist suspects at Guatanamo Bay get better healthcare.
I think this is an exaggeration, to make a broad point about how disposable real heroes are in an age where heroes are manufactured from camera-friendly people. The healthcare the rescue workers and clean-up folks are getting is poor, and because there's a lot of sympathy for the heroes of 9/11, he's using this as leverage.
Moore knows that we're an iconoclast society and he wants us to get mad at Bush so we'll take action and change things for the better. The reality is that the government could be doing more for them, but it was supposed to be an ironic moment; cruel ironies in Michael Moore films are the really dramatic moments.
But, all that said, Guatanamo abuses are bad, because the Patriot Act was a blank check to allow the government to ensure our freedoms no matter what the cost. Health care, and Guatanmo, shouldn't be mixed for any result. Both issues are too important for glib segments or knee-jerk reactions.

No, it isn't. The quality of health care provided to Americans at our miltary facilities is in no way connected to our treatment of any prisoners on those bases. You will just have to keep trying to find fault.
Have hope, however. The extremists on the left are almost as ignorant on some issues as you are on this one, so there should be plenty of valid stuff to complain about.
Incidentally, both quality of health care and treatment of prisoners are better in Canada, not to mention virtually every country in western Europe. Further, the average Cuban lives a decade longer than the average American.
Michael Moore may not always be right, and when he is he tends to go over the top, but his points can be valid. Shooting the messenger is a fine Republican tradition that does not change the truth.

Heck no. There are no contradictions on the left. They can take any side of any issue depending on who is President. When Presidents Reagan and Bush were in office in the 80's, there was an awful homeless problem. Somehow, without ANY new programs, the problem went away during The Clinton administration. Then, it miraculously came back when another Republican was in the White House.
Global warming was an issue in the 80's (Republican), not an issue in the 90's (Democrat) and an issue in the 2000's (Republican) again.
What makes you think they are contradictory?

No one in this country can be denied health care. If they can't afford it they just don't pay and that is what drives up the cost for everyone. The best doctors in the world come to America to practice medicine. Michael Moore, he just hates America. Maybe he will have a heart attack from all the bacon and pork rinds he eats and a conservative doctor will not treat him and ship him to France where he belongs.

Moore is merely referring to the fact that in Cuba health care is affordable for everyone, whereas in the US healthcare is far too expensive and mostly inadequate in meeting the needs of its customers. It is a political, social, and economic statement he is making with his new movie. I would say it about time someone covered this issue indepth and thoroughly so the medical and insurance industries' fraud and neglect are finally brought to light and into the foreforont of peoples' minds.

The left and Michael Moore are nothing but a contradiction. Since Michael Moore is so anti-american perhaps he should move to Paris. What an Idiot....

You do understand our health care system does not work. Let's go to socialized medicine. Why should poor people be denied health care? I believe EVERYONE is entitled to good health and an education. FREE Where should I live?
