Yes and it irritates me when I see people that do not use their manners or when they do not teach their children to have any manners. Sure, I can be rude---when the time calls for it---, but I don't know anyone who cannot be. I believe good manners and politeness are a dying & I am doing my best to teach my child how to treat others properly.

Absolutely, my parents brought me up to be polite and have good manners.

I was brought up to refuse sweets and foods from strangers, so even now i find it difficult sometimes to accept food that's offered to me when socialising.

I'm an adult now, some guy isn't going to lure me into some bushes by offering me some sweets. LOL

Yeah, and I try, but it's really boring and kind of sucks to actually be polite and good-mannered all the time. Sometimes I gotta cut loose and be a complete asshole.

Yes they did. I also went to Catholic school for 12 years. You really had to toe the line there. I was taught respect for the law, and my elders. I went to public school one summer to take a class, and I stood up to answer a question from the teacher and all the kids laughed at me. But I aced the class.

Yes, even now at nearly 34, if I speak to one of my old teachers, I still use their surname.

Always hold doors open for other people.

Say thank you etc.

to be honest, no.

but when i had kids of my own and grew up a bit i realised the importance of good manners, and always strive to be polite, even in the most annoying situations. i would like my kids to see me as role model. i certainly didnt see my parents as role models, more as people to fight against!

Yes they did and I will be the same with my kids. There is nothing worse than bad manners and arrogance.
