hi, i have already posted a question but was just wondering, i have done several pregnacy test all of which came back negative and i know u r supposed to dispose of them and not read the result after 10 mins, but after i had thrown one of them away i looked at it again the next day and there is a faint line in the result window what does this mean?

this would be a planned pregnancy and i am not stressing,just hoping, i do have some pregnancy symptoms and feel pregnant.

You may want to retest in 24-48 hours. This will allow for the pregnancy hormone to build up in your system to confirm if you are pregnant. It's not unheard of for a faint line to appear if the test sits for a long time, but, my college roommate had the same situation. She took the test, came up negative, she threw it away. When she took the trash out, she noticed that a line showed up. 3 days later, she took another test, and found out she was in fact pregnant.
If after you wait, and you still have a negative result, then I would trust that you are not pregnant.

That means that you may need to go to the Dr. to get checked out.. you may be too early for the line to show up really bright. I am 18 weeks pregnant and I first tested around 3 weeks.
The first two test out of 5 that I took looked negative. When I looked at it at first glance, you couldn't see a line at all.. but with the way that I am, I sat and starred at it forever and finally I saw the faint line. My husband thought that I was crazy until I took 3 more that were for sure positive. If you don't want to go to the dr just yet then get a Clear Blue Easy test...I took two of these and they will tell you for sure.. pregnant or not..no guessing if there is a line there!

I agree, after the test has been sitting for a while, the results window begins to dry out and any lines that appear are not indicators of a positive result. If you took previous tests and they all showed a negative result then I would say you are not pregnant. But if u are still in doubt, take anouther test or visit a doc.

If you have done several tests and they all came back negative after the correct amount of time then you aren't pregnant. You shouldn't look at a test after a certain length of time because it will give a false positive reading.
Work out your dates, see how late your period is, and maybe wait a few days before retesting. This is what I did as my tests came back negative when my period was 2 days late. I retested 3 days later and it was positive. Just be patient!!!

I did about 50 pregnancy tests before i got my postive, i was 6 weeks before the test came up with a positive sometimes it takes women a little longer to get a positive because of diffrent hormones levels.
There was so many times that i had looked at the tests after the time limit and had lines on it they are called evaporation lines, i know it is difficult but you should really disregard them results.

i had the same thing happen to me two weeks ago, i tested on the thursday and there was nothing there it showed negative but when i looked at it on the friday it showed up positive a very faint line appeard but i was a bit curious so i brought another test on the friday and did it again this one showed up more clearly but it still had a faint line so i waited until sunday to do another and it was very positive i am now 7 weeks pregnant. just wait a few more days and do another test good luck

Good thing one can stay private, when using this forum to ask their questions, otherwise we'd have to worry about lynching mobs.
Honey it means the stick is saturated with your pee, nothing else...it DOES NOT mean that it eventually picked up on some very low pregnancy hormones. The tests stop working after 8-10 minutes.

Its negative. A faint line can show up after hours of sitting there. It should say on the box that the results are not accurate after a certain amount of time.

I took a test and the line didnt show up till a couple hours and i though ok im not pregnant then i decided to go to my doctor anyways and i found out i was 2 months pregnant i would go to a doctor i never trust these test they are not very acurret

Its called an evaporation line from where the test has dried out. Thats why you cant read them after 10 mins coz they look like a positive result when they're not!
