We have a pond outside and have tried everything to keep the water clear but no luck. Our pump runs 24 hours and that does not help either... Does anyone know what might help??

We changed the water about two weeks ago. We have a couple of see roses in and lots of fish.

I have always used Bionetix Aquaclean (www.bionetix.co.uk). Its a bacteria and takes a about 2 weeks go remove the algae. Its worth looking at some chemical treatments, they can have long term effects on your pond.

It really depends on the cause of the cloudiness, but you are probably facing green water. In that case a better filter would be in order as well as if at all possible a water change to remove nutrients that are feeding the algae. Barley straw (available at better pond supply places and aquarium stores) will prevent the formation of additional algae and will help the clearing process significantly.

I would certainly urge you to avoid any of the water clearing chemical products on the market. These may work in the short term but in the long term will only make matters far worse.

A UV sterilizer added to the filtration system will help significantly with green water as well, but not with attached algae problems.

A UV filter is the best answer with all the pond water being pumped through it every hour.

Your pond is biking, its frequent while first beginning out. purchase your self a try equipment, and demonstrate screen the water situations. terrific element to do suited now could be try water daily, get lots of vegetation in the pond to apply up the nutrition so as that algae does not advance, and sit down lower back and wait. Im no longer precisely helpful what style of clear out you're working, its purely says UV clear out, is it some variety of bio clear out with a UV mild? if so, do no longer shop rinsing it out, enable the bio clear out do its element and construct up some advantageous bacteria. final element you opt to do is freak out and start up rinsing all your filters out, or draining the pond and attempting to start over.

You may want to add a filtering system along with the pump...If you have no fish or wildlife that may drink the water...there are pool products that help keep the water clear without using clorine.
