Well my best friend Nathan has a brand new Porsche 911 turbo S and I swear to you, he is the sweetest person. He's very modest with all of his cars, and believe me.. Him and his Dad have LOTS. Now his Dad is another story, but Nathan is pretty modest. He does have a passion for cars (obviously) and he loves talking about it with SOME people, i.e. Me, because I love all of his cars, too.. Lol. I have seen some people who aren't modest and lay their keys, or hold them in a manner to make sure you can see the "Porsche" or "Jaguar XK" on the keyfob.. and yes, that is not modest! I think basically,

1) Don't talk about it unless asked.
2) Don't double-park it
3) Don't wear "Porsche" apparel (LOL!)
4) DON'T look back when you walk away from it
and finally, 5) Don't get Porsche tattooed on your forehead ;)

But if you have a Porsche, then you probably worked very hard for it, deserve it, and deserve to be a little show-offey.. Don't worry if people think badly towards you because it's just jealousy. I only drive a Miata and I like it, but my friend Nathan has a brand new Porsche, a Hennessey 900 Viper, a supercharged Range Rover, a Colorado Trek Edition Discovery.. And his Dad has plenty of other cars. Yeah, my Miata doesn't look as cool sitting next to any of his cars.. But I'm happy for him. He happens to have a slightly debilitating leg problem so I guess in that sense he got the short end of the stick.

You need a reality check. For example, Ride your bicycle. That's reality. Ok so Porsche= unreal. Bicycle = real. Enough said about that. But I feel the same about my Cadillac but I can't think of it as real. People do look at it when I drive it. It makes me uneasy. But I love that car. But most of the time I ride my bicycle and I am invisible. Nobody looks at it. I like reality better. I drive the car in inclamate weather not in the summer at all.Seriously.

I have always believed that one should not be ashamed of one's income....If you can afford a Porsche, and it's the best car for your circumstances, then by all means, drive one, and be modest.

If you have a Porsche, and drive like a jerk, however, that's a different story. Or if you have own one, have payments up to your eyeballs (e.g. you really can't afford it, you just got one for the chick-magnet factor), you're not really modest.

Living within your means is never immodest.

You can't. The only reason people drive a porsche is to show the world they can.

Incidentally I wouldn't date anyone who drove an obscenely expensive car like that.

Some people here need to check the definition of modesty:

The state or quality of being modest.
Reserve or propriety in speech, dress, or behavior.
Lack of pretentiousness; simplicity.

MMMM yeah a porsche is real simple and reserved.

It's a matter of personality. for a person who is conceited, being modest could be a problem so they cover it up by buying expensive things, like a Porsche. Personally I prefer corvettes.

Haha they could be if the Porsche was a gift (yes, I know how unbelievable this sounds) or if they won the Porsche at a lucky draw or something.......LOL

Impossible. Modesty/Porsche=mutually exclusive.

They work hard for their money, they can buy what they want, they probably already put so much in charities, how is driving a nice car not modest?

it is easy, most guys who drive a porsche are just trying to make up for a lack of manhood.... the should be enough of a reality check to make them modest
