'95 Nissan Maxima. 184,000 miles. I do not hear knocking in the engine, just pulled up the 'knock sensor or circuit fault' code along with the 'oxygen sensor or circuit fault' code. Thanks.

o2c sensors need to be replaced every 100000 miles or so maby more often on some cars if they are reading wrong the comp will read wrong fuel mixtures and you can get a knock or a ping this will set the code newer cars use numerious sensors to run well if one doesnt work rite it can give problems to the whole system

i change oxy sensors a part of a 100000 mile mantinence you always get better milage when you change them

An O2 sensor error code doesn't necessarily mean the O2 sensor is bad and usually just indicates that your air/fuel ratio is too rich or lean which triggers the O2 code. So can a knock sensor activation cause an improper air/fuel ratio and associated O2 error code? Yes, in my opinion because the ECM computer retards your spark advance when it detects the knock sensor being activated. The knock sensor will detect engine misfires. Of course you could have a bad knock sensor. So the first order of business is to make sure the knock sensor is good. Then see why the engine is knocking excessively either from misfire, crank shaft balance, predetonation of the fuel (knocking), or other mechanical engine problem.

No. The code for a bad knock sensor means you have a bad knock sensor.
