We do come from stardust.
The earth and us are the product of a massive star that exploded some 6 billion years ago.
We are one among billions of systems that started the same way.
We are looking for life outside our planet not just life but intelligent technological societies like ours
I f we get proof of their existence it probably won't impact us in any material way.
Most peoples beliefs would stay the same.
People who have a faith will not be changed.
Extra-terrestrials would probably parallel us in intelligence and technology I believe these societies are very short lived less than 500 years us included
One day we may receive a communication that will be proof of their existence but no dialog will take place and we will never meet them.

If(when) we find life somewhere else in the universe....we will probably try to sell something to it, buy something from it, take advantage of it, or blow it up. I'm not convinced we are ready to be part of any "galactic community." As for our different belief systems, I think they will continue to act as they have; either incorporating the new discoveries into their systems or denying the existance of the new discoveries. There was a time when the catholic church didn't accept the earth revolving around the sun. They came around eventually.

considering global warming and the depleting condition of the earth, we must find living conditions outside the planet. Recently the scientists did find a new planet in wich humans can live. Although i dont understand, if people need to relocate to the other planet, how is it going to b done?

Scientists already know how life began, if you combine hydrogen, oxygen, carbon monoxide, water, and electricity in a flask, after several hours you would have formed proteins and amino acids which we all know are the building blocks of life. This experiment was performed more than 50 years ago.

Each planet will be like a country! Like Earth is going to be a country... You can spend summer in the other planets and you will be able to go to China in 5 minutes. Technology is developing fast!

I think people see the word 'life' and immediately think of ET or some being with green skin and a huge head. Life could be as simple as bacteria or other single-celled organisms. I think we would explore the source of where the other life came from and how it developed to better figure out how we came to be =)

In the Bible, Genesis, Chapter 3, verse19
"In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken; for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." So, maybe we are made of stardust, and yes we should look for life outside this planet. The Universe is immense, and God is not limited.

If we do locate existence someplace in the universe, could that have an effect on faith. it could desire to nevertheless be suggested that God created that different existence to boot as Earth's. If human beings developed out of stardust then who created stardust, returned God could desire to nevertheless be the author of human beings via having created the stardust. perhaps the main pleasing hardship could be provided if we chanced on different existence in the universe that's extra stronger than our existence. What implications could one in each and every of those discovery have on the perception that human beings are created in God's image?

Why can people that believe in God not accept that he could have created life anywhere he wants? If you truly believe in a higher power, it shouldn't change. Just because the higher power used the physical laws of our universe to cause chemical reactions that created life doesn't mean the higher power doesn't exist.
