You have insufficient information here to answer correctly without guessing.
Don't waste your time here without additional information.

There can be many things happening to make the clicking noises and if you can't tell where they are coming from, No One will be able to help you. Take it to a Local Mechanic and Have them listen to it and I'm sure they will be able to give you some answers.

There is a second option. I believe those are front wheel drive. It may be the CVC joints, at the end of the axels. It would sound just like it's from the engine. If it is, it's way cheaper to have this fixed than any engine problems. Good luck.

Yes -- it's known a "pinging" -- your Timing and/or Carburetion settings could be off, OR you might not be using the correct Octane gasoline. Pinging could also harm your engine in the long run:

"If you are running too low of an octane for your motor, you will get pinging. Pinging in its extreme form is also known as detonation. The fuel/air mixture is igniting all at once and exploding instead of igniting as a flame wave. The resultant "bang" is very hard on the pistons, head, rods, and cranks."

Sounds like engine knock from using low octane fuel. If that's the only time you hear it, I would not worry or change your selection of fuel. If you hear it accelerating on a level road, you might want to consider using a higher octane fuel.
