I think jealousy may be that or it may be a reaction to people who get their heart broken time and time again by those they care about. I believe that everyone is capable of love, but it is easy for the influence of others to destroy even the strongest of hearts.

I think that jealousy most often comes from people being insecure about something in themselves (not feeling pretty, prosperous, intelligent). I'm not a jealous person by nature, but the few times when I felt jealous were due to my feeling insecure about myself. For instance, I can remember being with my boyfriend and we met a really pretty woman, who was very nice, but I disliked her and felt VERY jealous of her. Looking back, it was because I wondered if my boyfriend was comparing her looks to mine, and I felt like I wasn't as nice looking as she.

A bit of jealousy can be OK, you know, just to show that it isn't all the same to you.
But there is something called pathological (or something like that) jealousy. And that is mental problem.

No, I think you can really love someone and still be unsure of them and afraid that they may not reciprocate and leave you.
