Okay, let's break this into part.
First, if the car you hit had no damage, you are okay legally. If it had any damage, and you left the scene, you can be charged with leaving the scene of an accident in which there was property damage. This is very serious. You will lose your insurance and your license will probably be restricted/suspended.
Second, if there was no damage except to your mom's car, then you need to decide how to proceed. If you report it after the fact their could be problems because you left the scene. You could report it to the police to get a report, and your mother could have it repaired by her insurance company, but it will be a hassle because you didn't report it at the time it occurred.
The best solution at this point based on your information is to go get an estimate, let the body shop know you are going to pay for the repairs yourself, because sometimes they will charge less if they don't have to deal with an insurance company.
Once you have the quote, tell your mom the truth. Explain what happened, along with how much the damage will cost to repair, and get her permission to have it fixed. Pay for it yourself and mom should be okay.
If you can keep this off your insurance, you will be far better off for years to come. Since there was no damage to the other vehicle, there is no one else to complain, there is no police report and no insurance action, the only punishment you will get is your mother's scorn, and the repair bill.

If there was no damage to the other car then you don't need to report it. Someone hit me from the back one time, and nothing happened to our cars so we just went on like nothing happened. I would tell your mom the truth, because it is what happened. I told my mom when I got in a wreck and she was not upset, she was kind of calm. Tell your mom and maybe she will take it to the repair shop and get it fixed for you.
Hope this helps!

your in big trouble, you should report the accident to the police immediately, if it happened within the last 6-12 hours you wont be considered hit and run. report to insurance company, stuff real small like this will probably not touch the rate or do very minor stuff +5-20 dollar rate hike.

You should tell the truth to your mother, and promise never to drive while drowsy. Thank your stars that they did not beat you up. But if you are from India, it is better to avoid police. They will complicate the matter, making your life hell. Your mother may not get insurance money, but that is a small amount which I think she can forego.

Better be honest with your mom -- AND - report the accident tooo. If the person you hit was unscrupulous, they could make their car look worse, and then say YOU did it.
Honesty can sometimes save you a HEAP of trouble.

Report it to your insurance. You have to by law.The other person might decide he has damage, or claim for whiplash. If they dont do either you will be ok, the insurance cant put premium up, unless you get the car repaired through them.Tell your mum,and offer to pay for the damage

Tell her the truth and if you have insurance- most wont cover it because you need an accident report from the police.

Just take it to a body shop to get fixed. If you filed it with your insurance, you'd probably have to pay it anyway because of your deductable, and yes, your insurance would go up.
But don't lie to your mom. Tell the truth, and offer to have it fixed yourself.

It is all up to you what you do.
If you dont report it the insurace will not pay.
Well you need to fix the car. If it was your car you can do what you want, but it is not your car so fix it.
