It has more to do with the A.I. of the software and your own ability. Do some research...I bet if you played as the Germans against the computer, you would find that they are suddenly better under your command, and the allies are mysteriously slow.
The game makers are not going to alienate half of their potential customers. They want to sell as many games as possible.

It is not uncommon for movies or for this matter, games, to show that Americans always come out in the end as victorious or winners. Even in the Vietnam War, the Americans were always portrayed in films as winners which is contrary to what is the truth. I believe that their opponents like in World War 2 (the Germans and the Japanese), would feel shame at their losses because it is true that they did lose in that war. But if the Vietnamese (or Vietcong) would see that kind of movie or game wherein they lost the war, I think they'd feel indignant because it is far from the truth.

I have visited Germany and Japan over the years. Both of those countries have divorced themselves from the entities that were involved in the wars. In Germany it is easy, the Nazis were evil and Hitler was a delusional mad man. In Japan they blame it on the Military lunatics who usurped the Imperial prerogative.

If you look at Viet Nam from a strictly military point We did win the war. We won all of the major battles, we siply lost the political war. America lost the will to see it through to the end.

Okay, some one will say the Tet Offensive. Another American victory. Why? Because, it was a complete surprise, launched in violation of a treaty (informal but traditional). The Viet Cong attacked country wide against unprepared units.

The result:
VC dead or missing - >100,000 (97% losses)
American losses - 640 killed, 1200 wounded.
VC temporarily occupied the US Embassy, held it for a few days and quickly lost it.
-They failed to generate the widespread popular uprising against the RVN government they planned for and
-Failed to seriously damage the US military
-Never again were able to muster any large field force capable of facing the American military in the open for the rest of the war.

Does that sound like a loss to you? It did to the anti-American, anti-military media who covered it. They never told the Americans about the most lopsided battle in US history.

It is a game. It is loosely based on history which would mean Germans lost. Now I guess they could have the men singing how great the German army is but it would lose something in translation. If you want the Germans to win, make your own fantasy game.
