1) I also think Jordin will win. I called this finale about 2 months ago. I like them both and for the first time since I've been watching AI, I couldn't care who wins, because they will both do well.
2) I thought the song was TERRIBLE! It was weird, had a weird rhythm, the background singers for both performers were off tune with them, making it sound garbled. It really didn't do either justice, but it obviously leaned more toward Jordin's genre of music.
3) The recap was not done in her favor. They tape the dress rehearsals, to prepare the clips ahead of time. They can't put together a recap two seconds after the performance is done. This happens all season, and if you tape the shows, you can go back and view the last performances of the night to see if they match up--they don't.

Blake song- This is a singing competition and you have to be handle whatever they throw at you. You should be able to sing whatever they throw at you, or at least try. Blake wasn't really his effort in the last song, he seemed bored. Remember when Jordin sang the rock song and it was written for a male a few weeks ago? She was bad, but she really tried and the judges gave her a point for that. And Melinda practically couldn't even spell the words rock'n'roll let alone know anything about the genre. But she did great that night. I would have enjoyed it more if he really tried. (And he looked like he was getting into it, but you could tell he was faking it.)
Jordin- I'm not sure about the recap as you are. I don't think the show was completely LIVE so they may have had her sing it before. And remember, they do a dress rehearsal the day before. They may have used the clip from that. (If they would have used the clip of her crying, people would have complained "She was trying to score extra sympathy".)

I agree with you--that song was AWFUL! Both of them did quite poorly when singing it and I have to say, I don't think it's either of their faults. The song is just arranged really awkwardly and the back-up singers were completely out of tune with both Blake and Jordin and I think that really affected the way the song sounded to us viewers.
Also, I did notice that Jordin's recap was different and I thought that was odd too. I remember thinking at the time that it looked like they were just filming her live again and had her sing that last little section so that they wouldn't have to scramble to go back to her film really quickly and play that part again. They may have just run out of time to go back through her recorded film and said "hey can you just do it again for us?" Really though, who knows.

OK now. If Blake can't sing what is picked then he should not be there and does not deserve to win. Jordin done so much better then Blake with the singing hands down and she deserve to win. Blake is a good performer but not the best singer. Jordin does deserve to win. And the song
" this is my now " was not bad at all it's not Jordin Sparks fault he could not sing it as well as her. I do believe Jordin will win and she does deserve it. It's a contest and if they cant sing what is picked then they need not even try to get on A.I

The recap at the end of the show is taped during rehearsals, they have always done it that way.
Yes, the final song blew chunks. But your question seems to indicate that it was unfair for Blake to have to sing it, well, Jordin had to sing that piece of garbage too. But at least she has a great voice and she managed to rise above the horrid song. Blake is limited vocally and when he sang it, it was almost painful to listen to, I couldn't wait for it to end.
I think his first song was good, although not as good as the first time he sang it. His vocals were flat last night. Jordin beat him hands down!

manipulating the voters...American Idol...can't be...but it is. that little break down from Jordin was the final nail in the blake coffin. too bad, he out performed her on the first two songs.
That song was awful, absolutely awful. Better that you don't win Idol so you don't have to record that song and sing it night after night.
Did it surprise you that the song was chosen from seattle writers...where jordin and blake live...

I did not like that song at all. I could have written a better song. Totally unfair for Blake's voice. Even Jordin started off rocky, a little off pitch.
Rockytop-Jordin doesn't live in Seattle. She lives in Arizona, but she auditioned in Seattle.

Yeah, I noticed that.
Even before they announced the song...I had a feeling that it was going to kill Blake's chances of winning....every season they pick a song like that....I mean can you imagine Blake singing "A Moment Like This" from the first season.
I love Blake and have voted for him each week ...but I seriously feel he would be better off losing tonight....I would feel bad for him if the first single he had to put out was "This is MY NOW".....he so doesnt fit his personality....he will be better off coming up with his own album!!

The first song Blake was fantastic but giving him those two other songs were "loosers" for Blake and I felt sorry for him because he is a terrific singer and entertainer.
I didn't see the end I had to switch over to Dancing with the stars.

Lost interest in show when Melinda was voted off. But they only show part of the songs during recaps.
Nerves have reached their peak on the show and therefore they show up at the worst times. That is not easy what they are doing.
