There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, "Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?" The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and refused to marry him.

Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying,
"JUST TAKE CARE OF MY EYES PLEASE."

This is how humans change when their status changes. Only few remember what life was before, and who has always been for them in the most painful situations.

So are you guilty of the same charge? If so, what are you going to do about it?

Not guilty! Heart-rending story, though.

In addition to the moral you drew from it, this little story emphasizes the importance of COMMUNICATION between people. What if these two people had talked this over in advance? What if they decided the bf would give ONE eye to the girl so that they both could see? Or do you think that, as someone else said, the girl was just a witch anyhow? ;-)

Sounds as if you have been reading O. Henry, eh?

Well I was guilty, but I did change. I changed for the better and I have never been happier.

sorry but that to me is too fairytale-like and reductionist aka dopey

people may grow but rarely ever change (eye-poking out aside)

besides if anyone is as dumb as the guy in the story, they deserve to be alone and blind. that means he never really knew his girlfriend at all (in her heart that is)
