I am tired of the hight price of gas. If you ask me the gas people are stealing from us, with the low rate payment I have a work I don't know what to do anymore.

How much is the gas in your country or whatever you live at, and what do you think we should do to lower prices?

Thisis a serious problem It is $3.65 gallon where I live in Michigan this morning.

Please lets do something.

I agree I know it is expensive to own a car. but noone complain about the price of other products because nothing else is raising prices like overnight. It is ridiculous how gas went up from $1:25 four years ago to ± $4.00 in so little time. Beside I don't buy coffee, I don't buy cigarrettes, I don't buy Pop/sodas.

thank you for your anwsers though

Most of the high prices we pay for items like water, coffee etc…are indirectly related to the price of fuel. These items need to be transported from were they are made to were they are sold. If the price of fuel were low, prices of transported goods would drop too. It is anticipated that ethanol production from corn will raise the price of all items indirectly related to corn. (Corn, corn fed hens, corn fed beef, milk from corn fed cows etc…)

What can we do? Well, if the government lost TAX dollars from low sales of NEW gasoline powered cars, and the auto manufactures were to risk bankruptcy from a lack of Sales and leases of NEW gasoline powered cars, they both would be willing to start making & selling the new tech cars. We need to “Stop buying or leasing NEW gasoline powered cars”.

When you see that new 2007 or 2008 car of your dreams, don't buy it if it isn't electric or hybrid electric, like the Chevy Volt. Besides, if you bought that 2007 or 2008, how much do you think it would be worth in 2009 if they put out their new tech cars getting the equivalent of 100 mpg and the price of gas is $4.50 a gallon USD?

UGH!! Gas prices are about SUPPLY AND DEMAND!! THAT'S why "the price goes up every April, goes down every August, back up a little at Thanksgiving and Christmas ..." Because when people DEMAND more, and SUPPLY is low (because the greenies haven't let us drill our own oil for decades!!), the price goes up! People drive a lot more in summer and around the holidays. AND the gas companies are NOT gouging!! YES, they are making "record profits," BUT THAT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE SELLING RECORD AMOUNTS OF GAS!!!! They are making the SAME AMOUNT per gallon as before. If you want to know who's gouging - LOOK AT THE GOVERNMENT WHO IS STEALING MORE IN TAXES THAN THE OIL COMPANIES MAKE, REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THAT THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING!! Why can't people get this through their heads?!! Why oh why oh why??!!!!! Good Lord! AND WHY AREN'T YOU ANGRY ABOUT THE FACT THAT EVERYTHING ELSE HAS GONE UP IN PRICE, ALSO?! Huh? WHY?!! I'll tell you why -- it's because the media only focuses on gas prices! If they focused on the rising cost of bottled water (which, like gas, is also rising), people would be barking about that! So why don't I hear anyone say anything good when the price comes down a little? Hmmm? God help me, I am soooooo sick of hearing people whine about gas prices!! But then, you can't go by me, 'cause I'm sick of hearing people bark and whine about EVERY LITTLE THING THESE DAYS!! You've got it pretty G.D. good in this country, dude!! Pretty good! Freedom, opportunity out the @ss, even the poor households in the U.S. are better off than the poor in most other countries! How about you try to appreciate what you have! Help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

There is really only three ways to lower the prices.

1) Increase supply. Good luck with this one. Between NIMBYs* and regulatory red tape, there hasn't been a new refinery opened in the US in the past 20 years. That means, we CAN'T increase domestic output, so any increase must come from the oil cartels. And they're not going to increase exports when limiting supply increases the prices.

2) Eliminate speculation. The futures market - or rather, speculators trying to make money in the futures market - is another driving force for high prices. But if we can't buy and sell oil before its on the market, that decreases supply, pumping up prices more.

3) Decrease demand. This is the one we can actually do something about NOW. Walk, bike, utilize public transportation, carpool, telecommute, don't take that vacation this summer, don't travel for the Fourth or Memorial Day or Labor Day.

I agree with TMLeaf......what can you do....you can sell your car and buy a motorbike instead. Or take public transportation. Cars are a luxury--I think people forget that. We pay $5 for a large coffee, $2 for a bottle of water, and $8 for a hamburger----so $3.00 for gas isn't that bad considering its a luxury not a necesity.

Complaining wont help though---its what has to be expected when buying a car---part of the maintainance is buying gas--so if you dont want to deal with changing prices--don't drive your car.

Good luck!

Where i live, gas is $3.29 a gallon. one way to save on your gas usuage would be to walk or ride a bike to work if you don't live too far away from your job. or maybe talk to your co-workers and try to form a car pool, and take turns driving to and from work. I don't know what will make the prices go down, unless most of us show the oil co's that there are other forms of transportation than gas burners.

The Earth is like a huge gas tank itself. It will take millions of years for more to be made.
There's only so much in the ground. It's going to run out some day. We could check to see how low we're getting but all the dipsticks are in Washington.

I paid AU$1.33 per litre the other day for unleaded. That works out to about US$4.00 per US gallon. In some European countries the price is like US$9.00 per US gallon.
It is still cheap in the USA. It has ALWAYS been more expensive in most other countries.

I live in South india and i pay 46 Rs. for One litter of gas 1$= 39 Rs. i think we pay much more than you pay and it is only 89 Octane or 90. the only thingyou can do is to reduce the consumption of petrolium products. and change to more eccofriendly fuels.

It is $4.20 US gallon ($1.05 a litre) here in Southern Ontario.

Here's another point of view: I also think we need to stop complaining about gas prices. Why do we complain about the cost of gas, but have no problem paying $2.00 for a Starbucks coffee or a couple of bucks for a bottle of Coke. We spend billions on bottled water and no one complains about paying for water, yet complain about paying for gas. If you buy.own a car, this is the price you pay.
