you can probably get into the bios by holding DEL when the first post screen comes up... or maybe f10 or f12 depending on your computer?? when you get in just look for boot order and change the cd to the first device there. good luck!

Different BIOS vendors have different routines/keys for entering into the BIOS Setup.Check your vendor and manufacturer manuals for the same. Most are carefully documented only we don't give it the time. In those manuals you should look for the category where booting is defined.Under normal AWARD BIOS chip setup it should be somewhere under peripherals and setup etc. Check out the Options of First boot device. You will have options here.Change this.Changing the second boot device or the third may not have much effect in the booting process if the first device itself is a success.
For eg first device is STA Hard Disk 0 and second is CD ROM then it may always show go by the hard disk.

And yeah don't enter into this one if you are not sure what you are changing. Always know that there is a hardware jumper settings to reset all the changes made on your BIOS to enable you to go back to square one in case of any problems. This will also be listed in the manuals.

Good luck

While booting use DEL key to get the Bios Set Up and in Bios set up there is three option for A/C/CD ROM drives in preference to select A or C or CD, on selection, press F10 key to come back and restart. Different installations made the function to different keys, normally it is DEL Key. Besides, take care while saving and return as the bios set up is the appetite of the computer.

When you first power up your PC, you need to press the delete key, you may actually see the option depending on the boot speed of your PC. If not, as soon as you turn on your PC just keep striking the delete key repeatedly until it goes into the BIOS setup. once there, there are several options. It is pritty straight forward. just enter the number of the option you want, but you would be looking for bootup sequence. Change the boot priority to boot from CDrom, then HDD.This will make your PC boot from a bootable CD.

In order to install a new OS, you may need to first reformat your HDD. this will require you to delete the existing partition. You then need to create a new partition and make it active. You then need to format your HDD. Once it has been formatted, you can then put your OS cd into your CD rom and restart your PC, so that it boots from your CD. This should give you options to install your OS and just follow the steps it gives you.

You may need to ask someone who knows what they are doing to show you what to do, as it's not that simple to install 2000, XP or Vista from DOS, if you don't know what you are doing. Good luck.

Getting into the bios you have to either press the delete key, or it is the F1 or F2 or even the F10 keys according to which brand of pc you have. To select the boot order most Bios have a section or place to pick what it boots to. Just highlight the CD-Rom and either using the - or + sign move it to the top of the order. Hope that helps.

Before the computers show the Windows logo you should press "DEL" key to go to the BIOS setup, take note that there are different interface of BIOS setup, you should find the setting that said BOOT sequence OR First BOOT, like what I've said different computer provide different interface of BIOS setting. And don't forget to save your settings after you configured it (F10 and press ENTER).

The options for entering into BIOS are different for different motherboards. Most common is to hit Delete key after putting on the system. The message is displayed at the bottom showing the key to be pressed to enter into BIOS.
