Here's the scoop.

Most rides will continue to operate as long as there's no safety risk. They have a couple of levels of weather which determine which rides will close at different times.

That's why you'll often see roller coasters still operate in the rain.

Some rides will close on heavy rain (if the brakes get too wet), but the main determining factor is lightning, not thunder. The closer the lightning, the more rides will close.

Hope that helps!

Certain rides can operate a light to moderate rain, but everything closes at the first sign of lightning. Some parks, though, do not operate any rides during even a light rain, its just up to each individual park's policy.

I have been there before when there was a small shower/sprinkling and everything was still going, but I asked and the operators said that some rides may be shut down if the weather gets bad. So in storm conditions, probably not.

I believe you can ride the majority of the rides. The only one I know of that they close down is Kingda-Ka in Jackson NJ. If there is a cloud that looks like potential rain they shut it down!

Depends on who bad the rain is. If it is a t-storm they will be closed at least most of them will be. you could always see a show if it rains though.
