It's normal. She'll start losing baby fat at about that age. Just watch that she's not 'dieting' because that can be dangerous for a developing, young girl.

i can tell you that a child really does have growth spurts and growing pains. i can tell you that it is normal for a child to have times when they eat like crazy and other times when you think that they don't eat enough. all of this is natural
you watch and see at some point she will start eating a lot more for a few days measure her size carefully at that time and then see the change .
this all comes from a very long study 25 years parents measured there kids 2 times a day and wrote down what they ate . they found that this was how it really works and that kids will sometimes grow half and inch taller in one night.

Watch her for the next while and see if you can see any changes or trends that may be going on. If you notice things continuing to get worse, then I would contact a doctor.

Sometimes, as a teen gets a growth spurt, then tend to thin out from their childhood "babyfat."

It can be nothing or it can be serious. You have to check her out in the coming weeks and months. Maybe she is just growing but she can start developing anorexia. If it continues, you should be to an professional...

I would not be too alarmed. Around this age, some kids tend to thin out as they grow taller.
