Yes, if you are happy and your friends have positive opinions do not worry about anyone else opinion. If it is more import to you what people say about your job, you will have a hard time in any job.

there are always personal opinions about each job or each person who does that job.
just think. student do not like teacher, teachers do not like administration, administrations do not like unions, unions do not like non union workers, society does not like taxes.
no one is happy with a political persons handing of a job.
